Rude and dismissive.

Aggressive and does not believe in autonomy
I was seeing this provider as my regular one was out of town. I have a care plan in place to be monitored and my decisions respected. The entire plan has been approved and I was following up with a provider in the same office as suggested in my plan. This doctor berated me the entire time because I have made an educated decision knowing all of my risks and have exercised my right to choose what happens to my body. Now, I completely understand her reiterating my risks and discussing the general recommendations as that is her job, but she clearly wanted nothing to do with me after knowing I made a decision that would be against her medical recommendation. I almost walked out of the appointment without finishing it. The audacity of a person who claims to love being an OBGYN to be so mean to a person who needs their help is beyond me. This provider should really find a new passion or she should learn that people will make choices you wouldn't make for yourself sometimes.

Knew immediately, “No!”
Scary energy. Within a few minutes of her walking into the exam room my mind was shouting “ask to see someone else!!” due to her dismissive and adversarial attitude. It was not a good appointment.

Worst visit I’ve ever experienced with a doctor in my life. Very sarcastic tone did not care about anything I said. Has zero compassion. She would dismiss any symptom I told her I had and said it was all normal. I would not waste my time seeing this Doctor again. I have never had a bad experience with any doctors at Women’s Specialist of NM until I saw her.

Incompetent
I had a visit with her to go over results of a test and she said everything was normal. It wasn't until I went to another doctor at another clinic with my records was I informed about the results of that test. And it was NOT normal.

Dr. (ha) Nelson was not helpful, kind, nor knowledgeable. I did not feel comfortable talking to her about any of my concerns because she was condescending and acted like she didn’t want to help. When I asked for blood test referral, she was uncomfortable doing so because “I don’t know what a person your age needs” I said we could google it. She also said since she wasn’t my primary doctor and something was amiss in my report, she wouldn’t be able to help me. I then asked her to just put in the referral and don’t look at the results. She was so rude! I have never had such a poor visit at women’s hospital. And her nurse, Petra, wasn’t kind either.

Horrible people skills. Terrified my daughter in a traumatic situation. Did not explain anything to us at follow up and barely communicated at all. Doctors at Tuality across the board are apparently not taught any soft skills or communication. Training is needed desperately!

My sister is a patient of Dr Nelson. She have been dealing with brown spotting for months and Dr Nelson keeps assure her that her body is normal, nothing wrong. My sister was put on stop bleeding medicine for 2 months, still not fix the problem. Dr Nelson even said my sister body is weird, nothing else she can do. A few days ago, my sister was diagnosed with Uterus Cancer with a tumor of an Orange size. Please seek 2nd opinion if you don't want to end up where my sister is :(.
