Best doctor ever!
I saw Dr. Prather with my son who was born in 2022. She is the best OBGYN I've ever had. She is compassionate and understanding. She genuinely listens to your concerns and will always have open, honest conversations in your healthcare. I will absolutely be returning to her with my next pregnancy.I had a C-section and the surgical procedure was so smooth with her- she is top of her field in my opinion!Thank you Dr. Prather and McKenna for being absolutely amazing.

Dr. Prather is exceptional. She delivers difficult information in a loving way and validates all emotions. This provider went above and beyond to ensure I got the best care during a miscarriage event. She reviewed labs, ensured my surgery dates were rescheduled to make room for mental health, and she consulted other peers when needed. She is the embodiment of human kindness and VMFH system is beyond lucky to have her.

Agist
Her bedside manner was good but when questioned about possible 2nd pregnancy (aged 39) she made comments about my age. When asked a question (several months later) about thyroid levels and it possibly preventing pregnancy (an issue I had in my 1st pregnancy) I received a response that told me that at 40 I was old and to go see a fertility specialist. The Mayo Clinic website even has commentary on thyroid and pregnancy. I was hoping for a little more engagement in the discussion before being told to find a different doctor. This felt a fairly simple question (that I've had answered before in the past by my GYN office) and I was just told I was old. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I am aware of my age. I was hoping to try something less invasive and less hassle than finding another doctor when I know she can handle this one thing in house. This may not be the reason but now I have to find a new doctor to find out the answer.

My experience with Dr. Prather has by far been the best I ever with an obgyn. My situation on the other hand was the one of the worst I have ever had to go through. I had a missed miscarriage that Dr. Prather diagnosed when I came in for my first ultrasound. She was not my assigned provider but took over my care and was absolutely amazing. This was one of the hardest things I’ve gone through but she made the whole process seedless and was very caring and attentive to every message I sent every question I had. She was very detailed and thorough with all my options. My situation was unique because I was moving out of state in two weeks. She was able to accommodate everything for me and was there every step of the way. Her medical assistant McKenna was amazing too. Going through something like this is hard enough they made everything else so easy and I had so much confidence in Dr. Prather for my procedure and knew I was in the best hands.

I don't understand how anyone would not give Dr. Prather five stars! I am so impressed with her professionalism, her caring, her expertise. I have to have a procedure in outpatient, under sedation and I'm nervous about post-op pain. I'm not at all nervous about Dr. Prather's abilities and I've only had ONE appointment with her! I am very careful about the doctors I see and I don't hesitate to question procedures or a diagnosis that I think is not necessary. I just feel completely at ease with Dr. Prather and trust that she knows what she's doing.

Best experience ever!! Even though she didn’t do what I originally thought I wanted, her explanation made total sense and I left confident with the plan moving forward. Also, the exam was the least painful GYN exam I have ever had. Would recommend her to everyone I know.
