I cannot express more disgust with my experience with Dr. Blazek. I went into the ER with major abdominal pain. I had had an Ultrasound the day before and was told the only way to view me results before Monday with my primary care doctor was to go to the ER. The US showed the need for surgery, however not in an emergent way, at least by the standards of the ER. While doctors are supposed to live an oath to “do no harm,” Dr. Blazek exhibited a clear intent to take every path of least resistance in my case while having no intent to do any good. I pleaded with Dr. Blazek to speak again with the on-call surgeon and she replied with a smirk that she would be happy to call but would likely be laughed at. I asked to be admitted and have non-emergency surgery the next day and she refused that. I was told to go home, be on a liquid diet and get a surgical consult. That was their advice, knowing I’m Diabetic type 1. Dr. Blazek cares more about her protocol and red tape than her oath.
