Dr. Hwang and Team- Still not resolved!
Be very careful when meeting with Dr. Hwang. We had a great visit and conversation, but after that everything fell apart. We were misled about the efficacy of the procedure; we were lied to about the cost out of pocket. We were told we would owe less than $1,000 and billed $40,000. We were not given all the meds when we were discharged because the nurse printed old paperwork. Then had to run out and pick up my meds from my pharmacy less than an hour after discharge. Over a year later and now I have to get a lawyer.

I was admitted to Mercy Hospital with urosepsis that necessitated a foley catheter and since I have a fresh knee replacement, I was very concerned about infecting the hardware with the concurrent septicemia. I was not seen by Dr. Hwang but her resident,acting on her recommendation, wanted to leave the foley in place until seen in her office. In my opinion, leaving a foley in place longer than a couple of days is a huge infection risk. I had the foley dc'd within 48 hours of insertion and began urethral self catheterization. In my humble opinion long term foley use is a reckless venture and I have helped scores of spinal cord injury ditch their foleys and self catheterize, Perhaps Dr. Hwang should stick to reproductive urology.
