Dr. Childs Saved My Life!
If it weren't for Dr. Childs I would not be here today. Most Drs. would not have taken the time during examination - even drawing pictures of what was found. It turned out to be a melanoma on my retina. Dr. Childs personally arranged for me to see a Retinologist the next morning. This was almost 20 years ago & I am still here! My gratitude is beyond words. THANK YOU.

Thorough and caring doctor
I had a wonderful experience! Dr. Childs took the time and patience to explain everything to me. She did not rush me out of the room and made sure that I had a clear understanding about my exam. I highly recommended her to my friends and family.

Excellent doctor!!
Dr. Child’s was extremely professional and kind. I had a few issues going on with my eyes and she answered all my questions thoroughly and without rushing. I love this new doctor and was so fortunate to find her! I highly recommend her- she is a lovely person as well as a caring doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Childs for many, many years. She is an excellent doctor who truly cares about her patients and takes a lot of time to explain and diagnose any problems. I’ve had emergency visits and regular eye exams with Dr. Childs and she is a true professional with tremendous expertise and experience as an ophthalmologist. I highly recommend her so if you need an ophthalmologist do not hesitate and go to Dr. Childs.

I went to see this doctor for an exam and refraction, all proceeded without incident. I went and had a new pair of glasses made. Upon receipt of the new glasses, I noticed that my vision had not improved. I went back to the optician who made an adjustment which helped slightly. I finally went back to my original doctor who told me the refraction done by Dr. Childs was not correct. I had to have the lenses remade. This error cost me hundreds of dollars. Exercise caution If you visit this doctor!!

After my first visit and exam with Dr. Childs I knew I had found a gem. She took time with me, asking many questions. She personally did my vision refraction where other doctors have left this up to their staff. She emphasized the need for me to choose the correct optician to make my complicated prescription. As a patient I felt valued and cared for.

I went to Dr. Childs for an annual eye exam because my over the counter reading glasses do not seem to be enough. I went there and she dilated my eyes and looked at them with a light, that is all she did. She did not do a regular eye exam in order to give me a prescription. When I questioned it she said I was 20/20. Again I questioned how she would know that without a proper examination she replied with, "I am just trying to save you some money." I have great insurance and a great profession, I didn't ask her to save me money, I went for an eye exam. I told her I wear over the counter reading glasses and wonder if I need a better prescription, she replied with just go up .25. I am new to the area and I have to say I have never seen such unprofessionalism at an ophthalmologist. Now I have to call my insurance and hope that I can see and another ophthalmologist for a proper exam.

Dr. Childs was very pleasant and very professional. Her exam was thorough, except she forgot to do the peripheral exam. As I was leaving, she remembered that she had left out the exam and asked me to come back in three months to do it. Her staff was pleasant enough during the visit; however, when I received the bill for the visit, I noted a discrepancy. I immediately called and was told to call back on a Wednesday because that is the only day their billing person is there. The bottom line is, if you have a problem, it is your responsibility to resolve it. The billing person has made no effort to reach me even though they said she would be notified. If you can’t call her on Wednesday, you are out of luck in getting your issue resolved. Not very professional!

Loved my experience with Dr. Child's office staff and Dr. Child. It's hard to find a good Dr. Who is compassionate and caring, I was a bit Leary, initially when trying a new person to care for the only two eyes I have, but, she explained what she wanted to do and is understanding of my needs. I think I've found my new Dr. I won't live without, my former Dr. retired years ago and I have been searching for this Dr. And I found her. Yeah me. Thanks Dr.

I have seen Dr. Childs on several times in the last year and a half. The staff is pleasant and attentive and they don't over schedule so the wait time was good. Dr. Childs is accessible and knowledgeable and sent me to a retinologist when I had a problem that needed further diagnosis.

I have been a patient of Dr. Childs for seven years. I would highly recommend Dr. Childs to both new and existing patients. It is not often that you find a doctor that is so professional, caring. Her attitude extends to her staff as well. Dr. Childs and her staff make each patient feel they are #1 and most important. Her office staff is a reflection of her attitude. She is prompt in her appointment schedules. In the rare case of a patient emergency if there is a short wait it's well worth it.

The doctor is quick and efficient with her time with you but there generally is a wait although nothing unreasonable. Medical assistant is friendly. Have been a few times and each time reception could be friendlier which is too bad as otherwise the experience would be much more enjoyable. Decent parking in the back of building and hours on Saturday give this an extra star.

don't go unless you want to wait an hour for your appointment! That's how long I waited. I also go to another dr in that office for my headaches and I went last week saw the very full waiting room and said I can't wait long I have a newborn at home. The receptionist that is all for dr child's. and then today my husband waited an hour for his appointment ! Craziness!!

Dr. Childs has been my family ophthalmologist for about five years. She is excellent my son has been diagnosed with Marfan syndrome recently and she definitely stays on top of things with his vision. I would definitely recommend Dr. Child's to everyone great eye doctor.
