Dr. Kathryn Iwata, MD

Dr. Iwata delivered both of my children. She's amazing!! She took great care of me. I travel 45 miles just to have her do my annual check ups.

Dr. Iwata is a no nonsense doctor, she is there to monitor a healthy pregnancy and the overall health of the baby. I first saw Dr. Iwata after a miscarriage, she was factual and empathetic she assured me I could go on to try for a viable pregnancy. She was my OB when I did get pregnant a month later. After my initial loss i was anxiety ridden, you can expect Dr. Iwata to be factual and to the point. She is the best doctor to have in your corner when things don’t go as planned because it’s all hands on deck to ensure best outcome for mom and baby. If you are having a healthy pregnancy and Dr. Iwata has no concerns, trust her and yes appointment will be short because there is not much going on to discuss during most of the appointments unless there is a concern or it’s near go time and a plan needs to be discussed. I highly recommend Dr. Iwata, she follows up on any concerns when there is a concern and will do everything she can to ensure a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

I saw Dr. Iwata for 2 yrs and the initial 15 weeks of my pregnancy. I found her demeanor brisk and formal and as I progressed in pregnancy I came to understand her practice to be outdated, her knowledge to be lacking in certain areas of new research, and her scope to be biased. Although I am aware she might have her own strengths, I would NOT recommend Dr. Iwata to a friend, colleague, or stranger on the internet. I would recommend becoming informed and learning as much as possible about birth.
