Dr. Kavita Iyengar, MD

I had two surgeries on my left foot. Pain has not totally gone away. Went to see another orthopedic surgeon who x-rayed my foot and told me there is a loose screw in my foot which has been causing the pain. I am now scheduled for a third surgery on my left foot to remove the screw. What a horrible and painful experience from 2022 til now. Would not recommend Dr. Iyengar to anyone considering foot surgery.

I’m high risk patient for developing infection due to diabetes and cml leukemia. I underwent surgery last year, and for some reason was not given any post op antibiotics until 2 weeks after the surgery. I attempted to get in touch with her or PA CJ and was only given the run around and basically treated like I wanted only pain meds. I was attempting to let them know concerns of increased drainage and pain. While in office MA appeared incompetent and attempted inappropriate cast wrapping, but thankfully was stopped by CJ. My wound dehised. I saw another orthopedic that day and was admitted for three nights to get iv antibiotics. I’m still currently on antibiotics and seeing infectious disease doctor as the infection is still not healing. I’m still looking at the least another procedure, at the worst possible amputation. I only saw the actual Dr once for less than one minute after surgery. My advise…see ANYONE else!!!!

I’m pretty sure she’s a wonderful caring doctor, but nothing stood out to me because, I chose her as my surgeon for my knee replacement and each visit to the LEMAX Prattville location I’ve yet to meet her. I feel that you should be able to at least talk to and be reassured by the doctor who will be performing surgery on you. I asked to speak with her on my last visit an her assistant said they had clinical and would give a call back later and never did. It made me feel like I was not important to her as a patient at the LEMAX. After driving over an hour paying my $40 dollar copay, it took very little time for me to be in an out of there and still no visit with Dr KAVITA LYENGAR M.D.. This is my reason for the rating I gave her. We as a society have become so busy that we have forgotten to be people first!

She is very knowledgeable and patient. She REALLY listens. All her staff at the Gardendale location are great!

Every visit has been great. Good explanations for things.

She always provide excellent service and show great concern for her patients.

Dr. Iyengar is an outstanding doctor. She did a wonderful job on my shoulder repair. Very through with her patients. I would highly recommend her!

Amazing! Dr. Iyengar was very attentive to my past history and showed not only compassion, but attentiveness in her diagnosis to ensure she didnt miss anything. As someone who experiences high anxiety when they go to the doctor, she alleaviated so much of that with her bedside manner. Cant say enough about Dr. Iyengar!

She is a very caring Doctor. She call you herself when your test come in whether they are good or bad and she explains results and gives you options on what’s best to handle your situation.

Absolutely love Dr. Iyengar she is very knowledgeable and her bedside manners are great she is a compassionate and caring Doctor. I wish Tuscaloosa Alabama had her practicing here but the one hour drive to Birmingham to have her treat my needs is something I do not mind doing to be able to see a Doctor of her caliber.

Do Not Go To This Person. She performed a Completely unnecessary surgery on me. I found out later that there is NO SUCH THING as a surgery to repair plantar fasciitis. She is a terrible doctor. She has ZERO oversite from Dr. Lemak. This surgery has negatively changed my life significantly.

I had an MRI for a running injury. one week later I still have not heard anything from the doctor. I have been calling every day and the nurse keeps telling me the doctor has the MRI image but has not reviewed it yet

Highly knowledgeable and professional. Treats her patients like people and not dollar signs.
