Be careful with this doctor
Today (12-05-2024) I had an appointment with a gastroenterologist, Dr. Kavitha Kumbum. She said that based on the fact that I had several colonoscopies in the past and they did not reveal a problem, she does not see any reason for another colonoscopy. I told her about my problems and that they are not being addressed, to which she replied that then I need to find another provider. The doctor did not even give me a basic exam to see what is going on and said that it was just hemorrhoids that need to be treated by drinking more water. She also said that my bleeding and hemorrhoids could be a consequence of FND. I said ok and left, but before reaching the elevator, I had an attack of FND with paralysis and fell to the floor. The staff of the medical center and also EMS came to my aid. Dr. Kavitha Kumbum was also there and said that it was not paralysis but that I needed to see a psychiatrist. Of all the employees of the medical center, only she made such a conclusion and she smiled while

I’m not sure why the preceding comments, but I had the most informing and overall best GI visit ever. She was very thorough and reviewed records completely. She was not quick to do major tests, based on my symptoms. And guess what? She was right about my stomach naturally fixing itself, supplemented by probiotics. Dr. K rocks! Experience yourself before “digesting” negative feedback!

My daughter was in the hospital and she said she was too busy to come and see her. I assume someone with more authority insisted she see her. She was defensive and unpleasant. She admitted that she hadn't looked at her x ray or CT scan, and seemed to have no inclination to do so. She didn't so much as examine her and suggested a treatment that is contraindicated for people with my daughter's condition. I will say she looks good for age.

Her office was slow to set up appointments, I spent a year trying to figure out a problem, she ordered tests but her office failed to file insurance correctly and so I was jammed with a $1,000 bill I had to pay, and in the end? It turns out that my problem was a medical side-effect that my general practitioner discovered. Stay away.

Please don't waste your time or money here. It took her office three weeks to call be back because the scheduler was out of the office. I told her of my family history of gallbladder disease. I had an upper and lower GI done. She came to the hospital late without my records. In recovery I noticed a large bruise on the side of my jaw. I refused to go back but was told by my Dr. She diagnosed me with IBS. Several months later I had my niccrotic Gall Bladder removed, Thanks to second doctor.
