Dr. Kavitta Allem, MD

I eventually had to find a new rheumatologist due to similar concerns another user brought up. Dr. Allem is knowledgeable but lacks the heart and soul needed for a position such as rheumatologist. It genuinely seemed as if I was just a number in the system for her to get paid off of, not a human. She is not a bad person, but she is not someone you would want to be your rheumatologist at a hard time in your life.

Unfortunately, the medical field is like any other and doctors vary in their degree of skill and expertise. Many doctors would rather gaslight you rather than admit, 'I don't know'. I saw Dr. Kavitta Allem twice and she dismissed my serious health concerns both times telling me I was 'very in tune with my body' and 'old'. She offered no help for my disabling symptoms and did not seem interested in investigating. What's worse, her charting (my formal medical record) aims to cast doubt on the legitimacy of my symptoms, which at times have been quite severe.I'm now under the care of a kind, competent rheumatologist who took the time and effort to make the correct diagnosis. I'm being appropriately treated for my condition and am feeling SO much better.Two stars for Dr. Allem, only for the convenient location and her supporting office staff who are all excellent.
