I have seen Dr. Santiago twice for trigger finger on both hands. My husband has also seen him for the same issue. We both highly recommend him if you are experiencing any hand related problem, as well as the Lowcountry Orthopedics practice in general. They are professional and quick to respond to your specific issue.

Highly recommend!
I am a Registered Nurse so I know good care when I see it. I had a great experience at my visit today. I went in with swelling and pain in my left hand. I was greeted at the front desk by a friendly receptionist. I waited less than 5 minutes when I was then called in for an x-ray. The x-ray tech and the Medical Assistant who took care of me were both friendly and professional. Dr. Santiago performed a thorough exam and presented me with several treatment options. I received excellent care. I highly recommend Dr Santiago and Low Country Orthopaedics.

I endured carpal tunnel finger numbness and middle of the night waking to place my hand below my heart for several years. Being self-employed in a job requiring typing, I worried I could not afford several weeks off to recover. I finally took a recommendation to see Dr. Santiago, and everything happened just as he said it would. After surgery, I felt immediate relief and greatly reduced numbness. I even worked the following Monday, including typing. His excellent team removed the dressing 12 days after surgery, and he provided me strength and numbness exercises to maximize recovery. The exercises were easy, the surgical site is healed, the numbness is gone, and I sleep through the night. If my other hand develops carpal tunnel, I will call Dr. Santiago.

Avoid At All Cost!
This is the most callous, uncaring, uncompassionate doctor I have ever encountered in my 68 years of life! After a carpal tunnel surgery, that went south, he did NOTHING to deal with the issues, the pain or any of the complications I had. Fortunately, I was able to see Dr. John DeVries a few weeks later and he immediately alleviated the excruciating pain I was having that Santiago did Nothing for. Dr. DeVries also connected me with therapists that have finally improved my health. I strongly recommend that anyone and everyone steers clear of Lowcountry Orthopedics and instead go to South Carolina Sports Medicine where you will receive caring and conscientious care which is not in abundance at the Lowcountry place!

Excellent surgeon.
My diagnosis was radial nerve palsy (wrist drop), I saw Dr Santiago for a second opinion. He was very kind and told me I should wait one year from the time of injury to see if the radial nerve would recovery. After one year from injury the nerve conduction study showed no recovery. Dr Santiago did a complicated triple tendon transfer to restore function to my dominant right wrist, fingers and thumb. The surgery is a success! I am very grateful.

Amazing
I have tennis elbow and Dr Santiago was amazing. He recommended a steroid shot to make my elbow feel better. I hate needles and told him that. He said he uses freeze spray before the shot to numb the area. He also had his nurse talk to me while he did the injection. The freeze spray made it not hurt at all. It felt like a small oinch

Patient Beware
Had trigger finger surgery and went back after severe bowstringing. Told to live with it as this is the best it gets. MRI showed severe “trauma”Just had repair surgery by another surgeon. This surgeon has 4 other of his patients. My PT has 2 of his patients & we know of 2 others. Please be careful.

DR K SANTIAGO
I have had a work comp injury misdiagnosed for 3 months. Today is the first time I feel confident that a doctor, Dr. Santiago, will perform all imaging and testing to identify all my injuries accurately and provide me with options to achieve full recovery. He’s thorough and answered all my questions. He explained the MRI findings simply and ordered another MRI and tests to further determine an accurate diagnosis. He was confident that he would provide me with a diagnosis and plan of action at our next office visit (after imaging and testing completed). I’m an extremely active person for my age (64), and I’m determined to make a full recovery. With Dr Santiago on my team, I’m confident that I will return to jet skiing, gardening, golfing, croquet, pickle ball, crocheting, macrame and work soon. Most importantly, I told him I need to be able to carry around my newborn grandson (due late summer) safely and pain free:) I BELIEVE Dr Santiago is THE DR to achieve this most important goal!

Dr. Santiago
Dr. Santiago made me feel comfortable and valuable. After checking the area of concern DR. Santiago proceeded to explain all the steps they take to help, leaving it to me to take the option that is best for me as a patient based on what I need at the time. Dr. Santiago interaction with the patients is an example of how the patient should be treated. After I left the place and during the rest of the day I let everyone I came in contact about my experience with Low County Orthopedics. Thank you, DR Santiago. You made my day!!!
