There is a non-discrimination policy stated in various places including the hospital's web site. Apparently this does not apply to addiction. I have an idiopathic seizure disorder that has essentially ruined my life. According to Dr. Klein, this is all in my head. I have had at least 3 concussions as a result of this disorder. Because I am an addict, it seems that everything I say somehow gets twisted into addictive behavior. She is from the old school of medicine in which Harm Reduction is an alien philosophy. I am better off falling and potentially destroying my brain piecemeal then exploring different or novel treatments. She denies my request for a prescription of a drug which I never asked for. When I suggested novel, scientifically proven treatments, she appears stunned. I don't require treatment for my seizures, I only need addiction treatment. She is not willing to diverge from her initial diagnosis. Addicts are human beings, but they are treated like criminals
