Dr. Kelly Dodson, MD

Dr. Dodson recently cared for my father at Kennestone after a terrible fall. It has been a really long time since I have met a person in the medical field that demonstrated a superior level of professionalism, compassion, and courteousness to her patient and our family. She took the necessary time to explain the details of my father’s condition as well as offering options for the best course of treatment. She spoke in language that was familiar to non-medical professionals, one in which was easy to understand. She was genuine and kind, and treated my father and our family with dignity, the way all medical personnel should be towards their patients and families who are hurting. I pray there are others in this field that take notes from this experience and get back to the saying, “people matter”. Thank you Dr. Dodson, you made a difference in the lives of one family today!

My husband was admitted to Kennestone due to a bleed out. She was the doc on at the time. She was straight forwards, answered question upon question. When he ended up in the IMCU, and it was not great - she wanted him out of there so got him sent to the Blue tower cardiac patient care as he is a cardiac patient first and foremost. When I was in tears, she put her arms around me, wanted to know what she could do for me. Wish she was his hospitalist now!

Dr Dodson has been extremely kind, thorough, honest, and able to see past initial impressions to the root and source and still ensure all possible medical issues are fully explored and addressed. I live in another state from the loved one I am legal guardian for and I appreciate the time she takes each day to call and update me. Thank you
