Warm Staff, Outdated Billing System
I called to settle an invoice and was genuinely surprised to learn the only way to pay is by mailing a paper check. No credit cards, no online option—just a stamp, an envelope, and a check. The secretary was lovely—warm, helpful, and exactly who you’d want answering phones at a psychiatric office. She said that’s just how they’ve always done it.I mentioned the invoice doesn’t say how to pay, and she admitted the format hasn’t changed in years. I suggested it really ought to mention “check only,” since most medical practices now accept cards. She said she’d look into it.I gave a middle-of-the-road rating: the staff was great, but the outdated billing system is a hassle. Now I have to go rummage through the garage for a checkbook I haven’t touched since the Bush administration…
