Answer the phone!!!!!!!
I have been a patient at SNEENT for decades; I have tried twice today to make an appointment with Dr. Yanagisawa and have spent almost 20 minutes on hold, to no avail. I am simply trying to schedule an appt & hearing test; I do not have time to sit here waiting endlessly for someone to pick up, or call me back whenever. I find this incredibly disrespectful to your patients; the message is that you can't be bothered to answer the phone, which is insulting.

I had a bad bloody nose that wasn't responding to first line treatment. Dr. Yanagisawa saw me immediately and worked for 2 hours to "fix" the problem! I was not on his schedule! ENT is a labor of love for him and a very special gift that he shares with his patients. His style of interaction is incredibly fun and comforting! He digs deep and adapts to what he learns with considerable finezz!

At a picnic, I was eating my last bite of a grilled hot dog when I felt a stabbing pain in my throat. I tried everything to relieve it. Went to my regular doctor and she recommended gargling. But by the end of the week I gave Dr Yanagisawa a call and he immediately scheduled me for a scope of my throat. He found a small metal piece from a bristle brush that cleans the grill. He scheduled me for emergency surgery and later that evening removed a 1 inch piece of a bristle brush from my throat. I went home that night and ate supper and everything was fine. This guy took care of me so well, called me the next day and made me feel that I was in very good hands. I would trust him with anything. Very knowledgeable and kept me well informed through this whole bizarre event. The best part: He listened to me. No tests or extra procedures were needed.

I came to him for a 2nd opinion with a CT scan of my sinuses after seeing a horrible ENT for years of sinus infections that was worsening. Dr. Y was pretty good with explaining things and answering my questions and spent time with me. But he misdiagnosed me and put me on medicines that didn’t help my symptoms and told me I wouldn’t need surgery. Ended up getting a 3rd opinion from another ENT after Dr Y and needed skull base surgery to remove a growth. Been sinus infection free for years now!
