Not a happy experience
First, as others have mentioned, it is impossible to contact the office by phone. I tried several times to set up my initial appointment, leaving messages that were never answered. Since I don’t live too far away I just went to the office and did it in person. Dr Yalamanchilli inserted my spinal cord stimulator. Three days later he had to take it out again because it had caused bleeding which caused pressure inside my spinal cord. I lost sensation and movement in my legs as a result. Four months later I am still working to regain that but have been told it can take up to a year.

Dr.Yaamchili did two cervical spine surgeries on me and mess me up and I will never recommend him to anyone. Plus the only time you see him is with first appointment and the day of surgery and then all the other times it his PA even when you ask to see him. When you tell them something is wrong they said everything is fine when it was.

Neurosurgery Excellence
Arrived an hour early to have my defunct spinal cord stimulator removed. Check-in went smoothly. Doctor Yalmanchilli explained the procedure clearly and assured me that he had done many of these procedures. I was wheeled into the OR right on time. Then went sleepy time. Woke up just over an hour later. Minimal pain in the two incision sites. Dr. Y came by to check on me. He was very thorough and patient. We chatted about some personal stuff as well. Could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Dr. Yalamanchilli.

During the initial appointment, I thought he was a little abrupt, but during subsequent appointments, he was courteous, professional and he provided a thorough explanation about areas of concern. I would definitely recommend himto others.

Would Recommend
Dr. Yalamanchili performed a cervical laminoplasty on me and I would recommend him. Like others have stated, he can come across as rushed/short/straight to the point during the consult appointment. I believe that is the office enviroment because I always felt rushed at every appointment I had at the office, even with the physician assistants. However, on surgery day, he and his team were the complete opposite of that. I would trust him 100% if I needed a neurosurgeon again. His PAs and the office staff are also great. Only complaint I would have about is you can not ever call in and speak to someone at the office. You have to leave a message and someone does get back to you, but it may be a couple of days.

My appt. was scheduled for 7:00 am. Dr. Yalamanchili, didn't come into see until 7:43 am. He didn't apologize for being late, he didn't physically check my spine ( the reason for my appt.) he only checked the reflexes on both knees. He quickly explained what he seen on the cd that I brought with me, I didn't feel any warmth or care grom him, his whole discussion was matter of fact and routine. He only spent about 5-7 min with me when he had me waiting for nearly 45 min. My conclusion is if he rushed through the appt. he'll rush through surgery. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

If Dr Y was whatever derogatory name you want to call him, he has performed two cervical surgeries and 2 lumbar surgeries and, has helped me to be PAIN FREE. I was in so much pain I had problems turning my neck and was barely able to walk without assistance. He performed nothing short of a MIRACLE. Everyone has their opinion, but my opinion is of the highest regard. PEACE!

I was very impressed at how knowledgeable, professional, and courteous with answering my questions with thorough understanding of everything in how Dr. Yeminichili was me at my Appointment. I highly recommend him to anyone that needs his medical care. I am a good reader of how people are and I knew after meeting with Dr. Yeminichili that he is A Quality, Top Notch Neurosurgeon!

My husband suffered 5 months of severe back pain and tried everything the doctors here downstate told him to do - PT, epidural, etc. Nothing helped, & he deteriorated that he was confined to a wheel chair. We were referred to Dr Yalamanchili, and it took awhile to get an appointment, but he reviewed all the imaging and immediately scheduled emergency surgery. The surgery fixed his pain and the recovery was remarkable considering the extent of nerve damage done. I am so pleased with him and the staff there. They could not have been more professional, efficient, and caring. Shout out also to PA Shakara Smith and scheduler Lynn Vanneman. Thank you all!! My advice to anyone would be - call ASAP because it does take some time to get an appointment.

I had a spinal cord stimulation. After the surgery I developed complications. I called the office and received a voice mail that I needed to be evaluated before I could be treated. This Dr should have let me know about any possible complications before the surgery. I had a spinal fluid leak. I ended up in the ER the be treated. I would not recommend this Dr. He may be highly rated for this procedure, but if any needed care after the surgery he turned a cold shoulder in my time of need

A couple of pointers. A. Do not use GPS to find the office for this practice. B. Do not use this practice. Zero customer service and even less compassion.

After another Dr. accidentally cut a blood vessel in my spine while implanting a spinal cord stimulator causing me to be temporarily paralyzed from the waist down I was given a 15% chance of walking again before Dr. Yalamanchili performed an emergency surgery to reverse the effects of the damage. Three years later, lots of physical therapy, my life has dramatically changed but the work of Dr. Yalamanchili made it possible for me to walk again.

Very intelligent, got to know us and answered our questions. Explained options, pros and cons, and his recommendations. Explained the entire procedure from scheduling surgery, to what would happen in surgery, and after surgery. As they were taking my husband back to surgery, I must have looked worried as I turned for one last look before I went to the waiting room. Dr. Yalamanchili took a moment, smiled and told me he would take good care of him. And he did!!!
