Worst doctor
This doctor caused the passing of my sister. He over prescribed pain meds to her for years. He sent them illegally to her while she was in a different state (did the same when my father who was also a patient of his while he was out of state). He had zero regard for her well being. I would have given zero stars but it won’t allow for that.

physician raises the standards of care
Joanne the receptionist is outstanding. She runs the front desk with skill and professionalism. Donna the tech is absolutely the best. She knows the patients and meets our needs while we are there. Dr Kenneth Ackerman is a dedicated, knowledgeable, patient, compassionate physician. He takes the time to listen - really listens! He formulates a plan of care that is spot-on and easy to understand. He raises the bar of patient care that far and few even attempt to try. He is patient-focused, professional, caring, compassionate and the best physician ProHealth (Optum) will ever have.

New Patient First Impression
First time seeing Dr Ackerman. My doctor of 10 years practice was taken over by a group that no longer accepts my insurance. My loss. Anyway, Here’s my experience. Dr Ackerman as part of an annual exam orders blood and urine tests. Results posted to portal show several out of tolerance results. I email Dr Ackerman and ask if there is any required follow up or recommendations. His response via email was simply “No.” While I respect his professional opinion, I was anxious to understand his reasoning that no follow up was needed. I emailed him back and asked if he would please, for each out of tolerance test result, enlighten me as to why no follow up was necessary. His response was “Please schedule an in person or telemedicine appointment to discuss further. I do not want to get into a confrontation on this forum and that appears to be what you are doing.” Contrary to Dr Ackerman’s take away, I was looking for answers, not confrontation. Now I’m looking for a new MD.

Great MD/ Person
Dr A is an excellent physician and a great human being. I have been going to him since 2007. He is thorough, thoughtful and extremely intelligent. He may come as distant at first but it is just his clinical approach and serious nature. Dr. A is very caring and kind. He addresses every medical issue I bring up and follows through. He is one of the last old school thorough doctors, something you won’t find very often anymore.

Not good. After reading his reviews I am now very concerned about results of my tests. I’ve been waiting three days for him to get back to me with explanations of out of range results. I’m concerned that over the last couple of years when he has told me not to be concerned , maybe I should have worried because he seems to ignore his patients results and some of them have had bad consequences from his lack of concern. I now feel I have to go to another doctor to be retested and have a real conversation about the results..

What the eff has happened to this man!!? As many have said, he USED to be a good doctor. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to him. He’s rude, nasty, egomaniacal, extremely distracted, plus a whole lot more. He orders tests but it’s impossible to get results. He will write a prescription without even examining the patient. The prescription usually is loaded with mistakes as well. And if you have a question of ANY kind you can never get him on the phone and he rarely responds to emails. When he does respond to emails it’s literally two words that usually make no sense whatsoever. Who’s minding the store over there? Who is he accountable to? He’s only interested in his personal life. It’s as if the patients are an intrusion. The level of distraction and mistakes that are made are at a level I have never seen from any health professional anywhere. I think a thorough review of his practice needs to be done. I’m convinced he’s not all there.

Poor bedside manners. Overbooked all my appointments for 16 years. I’m surprised I tolerated it this long. Today was the last straw when I had to sit in a room for an hour. When I complained to nurse practitioner that why do they overbook and meanwhile I was probably second or third appointment of the day Kenneth Ackerman came out and said there are 600,000 physicians in United States maybe you should find another doctor. Rude unprofessional maybe being a doctor is no longer for him and he takes it out on his patients. I think overbooking is just the way to rip off insurance companies by not giving attention to patients

This doctor’s license should be taken away. My husband is an addict and he has 6 years clean now. Before he stopped, this doctor used to prescribe him excessive amounts of Xanax. He put our lives in hell. he was not honest to his patients and doesn’t care about them either. Do NOT go to this doctor.

He was my doctor for about 8 years. At the beginning he was good but somewhere in the last 3-4 years he's lost his bearings and is off somewhere else. Rude, detached, no concern. It's as if he doesn't want to be there anymore. Like to brag he's Pre Health's biggest producer (he's running a factory of the money). And he's hired himself out for TV informercials for products he knows don't work. Ask him abut his watch, his new shirt, he'll talk your head off. Ask him about a health related issue and you're lucky to get two sentences out of him. A loser and an egomaniac all in one. Do not use this guy.

I've been going to this man for years, ever since I was around 10 years old. He used to be an excellent and understanding doctor that my mother and I could count on for routine checkups and times of need. That has changed starting 2019, and has only become worse with the pandemic. Incredibly difficult to get in contact with, even when it comes to prescriptions. Just wants to get you in and out so he can service the next customer.

Excellent experience over several years. Dr. Ackerman always explains everything to me and never rushes away. I have multiple serious conditions for which I also see other specialists (prior renal cell carcinoma and current PCV, kidney disease and other conditions) but Dr. Ackerman is my primary care physician. I trust him personally and professionally. In this paper-pushing age, no doctor can be held responsible for staff errors. On multiple occasions, I have been seen within 1-2 days of requesting an appointment. I've been dealing with many doctors over the years and I know good from bad. A hematologist-oncologist once prescribed a chemo drug that almost killed me and refused to see me when another doctor discovered the problem. Dr. Ackerman always sees me and cares and that's my opinion.

I don’t know what happened to this doctor that I once trusted and admired. I just recently fractured my pelvis which might have been avoided had I known that I was suffering from severe osteoporosis. He ordered the test back 8 months ago and received the results 2 weeks later and NEVER let me know the results, so I thought I was fine. Looking for a new doctor!!!

Had been a patient of his for many years as he used to be really good. Was accessible, spent time explaining things, returned calls etc., and I had recommended him to many. NOT anymore as he has changed. The care you receive seems to depend on his mood that day. Once over heard him muttereing negative things about a patient when Dr. was in the hallway. He does not return calls and sadly has a lack of concern.
