First, the fact that Dr. Adams has anything less than a 5 star rating is ridiculous to me. His expertise, attentiveness and proactiveness has been a godsend. I have had double vision for 3-4 weeks among many other concerning symptoms. Dr. Adams was the first and only doctor this far to acknowledge there is a problem and confirm that Im not crazy or making this up. He diagnosed me with a cranial nerve palsy where one of my optic nerves wasn't working properly and ordered an mri and more testing to be done to find the cause. A couple days later his staff reached out because the case was on his mind, I then told them my symptoms were worse and was extremely worried. He then pushed for a stat mri the same day where we found abnormalities in my brain pointing to MS. This optic nerve was being affected by it. He has been instrumental in getting to the bottom of this. I am beyond thankful for Dr. Adams and would recommend him to anyone.

We are so sad that Dr Adams left Albuquerque. He is THE MOST AMAZING doctor for all ages! He took care of all of our kids in foster care for years! He is THE BEST!

Primitive Care
I got low quality care from him. I went to MD after seeing him and now get exceptional care. He is a crabby old geezer who was rude to the eye tech during my exam. I would not take my nephews to him because he is too rude to adults and the kids have to wait too long for him. He is always behind. Children can spot people who don’t like kids. The tech and staff are nice they just took it and were kind to me the entire visit.

Didn't Examine Both Eyes
What else is there to add? He had decent advice around dry eye, but after he examined one of my eyes, I asked him to examine the other and he said "We can just assume they're the same." I laughed later at home, but Wow. Obviously going to someone else now.

The embodiment of Experience & Kindness
Dr. Adams and his amazing staff recently saved us from nights of worry and sleeplessness. They were AMAZING at getting us quick help, for our 4yr old son. Dr. Adams offered his years of expertise, bedside manner, and a full suite of tools/toys... toward ensuring he was okay. Even 2x checking areas of serious concern with more than 1 method. All so we could walk away without worry. THANK YOU!!! Dr.Adams & your kind/very-friendly staff :) Really. You're a gift to this world, much appreciated.

Arrogant and inattentive exam, incorrect diagnosis
I saw Dr. Adams for a second opinion about my double vision. Dr. Adams would ask me a question then immediately talk over me. He said he knew "what was wrong with my eyes 15 seconds after he walked into the exam room." He diagnosed a Cranial Nerve 3 (CN3) palsy, but first specialist diagnosed a CN4 palsy. I contacted Dr. Adam's office to try to reconcile the different diagnoses but never received a reply. The internet is an excellent resource. Youtubes made by doctors to help teach medical students to diagnose cranial nerve related eye movement problems provided definitive verification that my problem is indeed a CN4 palsy. All my symptoms are consistent with CN4 not CN3 palsy. I shudder to think about what would have happened to my vision had Dr. Adams performed surgery based on his incorrect diagnosis. If he were not so arrogant in assuming he knew the problem before he performed the evaluation and if he actually listened to the patient, perhaps he could make the correct diagnosis.

Dr. Adams is not a good communicator. He didn't explain the new problem with my eyes and why I would need to use two different pairs of glasses. When I asked him a question, he gave a cocky answer. I had to see him again, about a month after my initial visit, because his first prescription did not resolve my problem. However, he didn't charge me for the second visit.

Very disappointing! Dr. Adams didn't review the medical history I had completed before this, my 1st visit with hi. He talked about the 2 issues I identified as my concerns; however, when I read the "form" documenting my visit on the link his office provided, it identified 2 other conditions - which he failed to even mention to me, let alone discuss. A technician performed several tests and, because I said I needed a new prescription, the TECHNICIAN used the office equipment to develop the "numbers" to correct my vision with glasses; Dr. Adams NEVER looked at or checked her "numbers" or questioned me about my difficulty seeing; instead, he had the TECHNICIAN'S "numbers" printed on a prescription form and auto signed by him. When I saw that part of the prescription was even weaker than my last one and said so to the receptionist, she offered to change the prescription!! When Dr. Adams saw me, he said he would change the prescription to the prior one -- once again, without examining

I like Dr. Adams and he has provided good care for my son. However, the office staff is rude and unable to keep track of appointments or insurance information. After seeing Dr. Adams for 5 years we will be leaving due to the incompetent office staff.

Dr. Adams is an excellent doctor and very thorough with his examination. My girls really like him and they enjoy going to his office. He diagnosed one of my girls with amblyopia (lazy eye) when she was barely three years old. She is four years old now, and her eyesight has improved tremendously. His staff is very friendly and will accomodate you if you have an emergency.

I was very impressed with Dr. Adams. He is soft spoken, very patient & I felt very thorough in his exam. I also trusted that Dr. Sanchez, who referred me, would send me to the very best! My only negative experience was the unfriendly staff. Rather curt, actually.

Dr, Adams is the very best! He has cared for my husband, and me, for several years. I have had facial shingles and some very concerning symptoms. He has given me the best of care, and has explained everything well. His staff has also been very helpful. As I get older, having an eye doctor who shows such skill, empathy and respect, has become very important. Over the past few days I had blurred vision in one eye and floaters, the office got me in promptly. Several tests were done. Thanks again!
