Abysmal treatment
I had gone to Dr. Pugar for a second opinion about a neurological problem that I've been dealing with for some time. I had recently gone to a different doctor than usual who suddenly disagreed with this. So, I went to Dr. Pugar for an opinion and further help. From the moment he walked in, he seemed angry that I was questioning this other neurologist. I was blown away as I hadn't even spoken yet. He would ask me a question and then interrupt and not even let me reply. I got scolded. I started to tell him about, during the very long course of this, three other doctors who had tested and confirmed the issue. He said, “I don't care WHO they were or WHAT tests they ran!”. Direct quote. Then, he loudly scolded me that I should “see a psychiatrist and you take WHATEVER medicine they throw at you!”. Again, direct quote. I have never been spoken to by a doctor in this way in my life - especially when I never even got to talk to him about what I was there for. It was absolutely unbelievable.

I visited with my mother to address some cognitive decline concerns, some problems with stability and lack of feeling in feet. Dr. Pugar was thorough and patient in his exam and we left with more information gained in those 45 minutes that we had obtained in years past collectively. We left with a plan of action for treatment and follow up, as well as a level setting for expectations.

I made an appt. with Dr. Pugar to obtain a second opinion on a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. I was almost immediately impressed and confident that I would have a good experience. Dr. Pugar was very thorough in his examination and answered all of my many questions in a way I could understand. He never made me feel rushed, in fact, he spent an hour with me. I decided about halfway through our appointment that I wanted Dr. Pugar to be the doctor helping me to live with Parkinson's Disease. I would highly recommend him!

Very comprehensive assessment for my mother, very attentive and patient focused, highly recommend Dr. Pugar if you need neurology assessment, he spent lots of time and showed genuine concern for her well-being, very honest about her mental impairment, providing expected next steps, great patient and family interaction as appropriate - better than five stars

After the past year of doctors who don't follow through and don't explain things in layperson terms I cannot say enough good about Dr Pugar. He was kind, thorough, knowledgeable. He made it very clear he would be available in the future if I needed help at anytime such as having increased pain.

The Dr walked in and hardly gave an introduction which threw me off because it was my first time meeting him. He would ask me a question about my symptoms and then immediately interrupt me trying to tell me what I should be feeling. Didn’t believe me when I had told him I had already gone to a PT only because he personally hadn’t heard of them. He has the worst bedside manners I have ever seen in a professional setting. At the end of my appointment he just walked out and I had no clue id I needed to wait for someone to come back in or just leave. I will never recommend him to anyone.

I went with my sister to her inital appointmet with Dr. Pugar. The doctor and a woman finally came in an hour after we were checked in, there was no introduction and no explaination on who the woman was. He asked what her symptoms were and continuously cut her off and tried to explain her symptoms for her. He then asked for her to strip down in front of the whole room, giving her no privacy. Pugar and the nameless woman watched her as she had to strip and then made her sit there for the remainder of the appointment in her underwear while there were gowns directly under the bed. After the inital exam he then began doing a voice recording of his findings, belittling her and describing all of these symptoms as being caused by anxiety and depression. After the recording was over, Pugar got up and asked if there were any questions and then walked out of the room without saying anything else. This doctor is very knowledgable but he has awful bedside manner and has a god complex.

He was a very professional doctor. I feel he belongs in research more. My husband was diagnosed with onset of Alzheimer’s which I asked earlier about. I was told I could call association to get info about it. After the doctor canceled his appointment and we had to wait another 3 months before we could see him. I said enough and we got another doctor, who gave us a book on this diseases. This I thought Dr. Pugar should have given to us. The book was very good to have. To bad we didn’t have it sooner!
