Recommended a spinal tap for a fever...
We brought our 4 year old daughter in to be checked. Her symptoms were a fever (103-104 at home which prompted the visit, but measured 101 when we got to urgent care), a slightly runny nose, and she mentioned she had a headache which she said was 'tiny'.He examined her, and despite knowing that we had a cold bug going through the house which my wife and 2 yr old also had at the time, this man suggested we get chest X-rays, her blood drawn, an IV drip, and a SPINAL TAP to check for meningitis since we're on a delayed vax schedule. She had ZERO other symptoms indicating meningitis other than a fever. We refused everything other than some non-invasive testing for flu, covid, RSV, and urinalysis. Her fever broke while we were there during our 2 hr visit down to 99.3, and she was smiling and bright-eyed by the end of the visit. She's totally fine now.THANK GOD we knew to question these extremely invasive procedures from the worst doctor we've ever seen. She would have been traumatized.

He treated my 10 year old like a drug addict when we arrived to JMH ER with his broken arm. My son asked if could have something for the pain, and he gave him IBPROFEN. When that obviously didn't help he asked again, in misery. He told him he would give him a shot. My son, BEING 10 asked how big the needle was. He replied, "Does it matter if your in that much pain." To top things off they had no ortho doctor so I had to drive my son to riley. To make it even better... my sons packet they gave me that was supposed to have his xrays and information was filled with another patients personal and medical information. Do not take your dog here, and don't let Dr Byerly touch even your fish.

one of the worst doctors that I've ever encountered. very rude. more worried about my medications, instead of the reason I was at the hospital. Stay FAR, FAR away from this character. saw him the JMH in Fanklin ER, nurse from the ER was about as desirable than Dr. Byerly (not). October 12, 2019

Treated my family terribly at the ER. Unfriendly, impatient, and somewhat snarky. He had the nerve to pick one of my hairs off the hospital bed like he was disgusted and threw it in the trash. Wow!

He is not thorough at all. He did absolutely nothing other than write a prescription for an antibiotic. Not test were ran and he stood by the door with his arms crossed the entire time. Then billed me $544.00. What a joke.
