Dr. Rubin
Dr. Rubin cleverly diagnosed my problem (not a GI problem) - immediatley made an appointment for me with a cardiologist - so he, quickly and decisively got me the treatment I needed. He's an excellent doctor, concerned for his patients, and capable of going where the evidence and symptoms lead him - whether within his specialty or outside of it.

Dr Rubin has been my GI dr for years but I feel he’s not as diligent as my GP has he was my gastroenterologist. Maybe money has taken over for patient care.

I saw Dr. Rubin some years ago, a few years after giving birth to my only child. I was in my early 40s and pointed to the area that, as I would have known had I simply googled the human anatomy, was my gall bladder. In other words, I had all the hallmarks of a gall bladder problem. Rather than identifying this, though, or even suggesting it, he sent me for a long series of invasive and expensive tests--including a colonoscopy and endoscopy. spaced months apart--which all came back negative. Only then did he suggest we check my gall bladder, which by that point was full of stones -- so many that I had to have two consecutive surgeries, spaced an hour apart. (Thank God I didn't take his advice to choose a young female surgeon he had some affiliation with, someone I couldn't even find online.) I can only conclude that Dr. R is totally incompetent or corrupt. I suspect it was the latter, given his track record. I normally don't post criticism but this was truly reprehensive.

He practices medicine as if it is 1965. He does not like questions from patients, rather telling them that he practices "good medicine" The excessive testing would weigh a reliance on tests and not diagnostic skill. Paternalistic and condensending

Started seeing Dr. Ruben when i was diagnosed at 18. Seemed genuine at first until i had really bad flare up at 24 yrs old and he immediately recommended a very serious daily injection procedure which didnt seem in my best interest only his. Very distant and not willing to spend extended time discussing anything and comes off as a know it all. Long story short, went to another specialist in the city & with holistic treatments and up-ing my current dose of medicine made a full turnaround in 1 mo.

We came to this Dr with our son aged 18, experiencing symptoms of IBS and digestive issues. We found Dr Rubin to be patient, caring, and proactive. Hr asked many questions and took the time to listen and gave undivided attention to us, He ordered an abdominal ultrasound and Thank G-d the results were good, which his office was considerate to report to us the same day. He also prescribed reasonable and sensible treatments and supplements. His staff was very courteous and professional as well.
