Very bad experience. My mother has received eye injections multiple times before, knows the process & pain level. Leon medical was provided the records in advance. My mother needed the eye injection immediately and was sent to Aran Eye to be seen by Dr. Wals. I called Aran Eye 2 hours before the appointment at 305-442-2020 and was told they had the records. I asked them to please make sure they treat my mom with empathy and good patient care as she has been through a lot and is scared from losing sight in right eye. My mom arrives, the location was small and in poor appearance. The doctor gave her the shot in the eye and she was screaming in pain, pain like she has never experienced before. The doctor says he didn't have the records or notes and he's done the same as he has with thousands of prior patients. ZERO empathy. Dismissive regarding her pain. My mom says the drops were put in but he didn't wait for the eye to numb before he stuck the needle in. She is never going back there.

This doctor has too much ego and lack of empathy. No matter how many titles he has achieved if he does not feel compassion. When I asked what happened to my eye (macular hole after surgery done by him) he answered: "you would have to ask to your eye". He has too much to learn.
