Dr. Kerry Swenson, MD

Not someone I would want to deliver my baby. Cold person. She literally used the word “death” when referring to my unborn child if I do not consider inducing. Mind you I just reached 38w. She didn’t want to check for cm dilated every after nurse said that was the plan for the appointment. I started crying after and she asked why? Idk lady because your beside manner is garbage and you just talked about my baby’s death. She went into a discussion about a study about how everyone is inducing nowadays. The notes clearly state the mental state I have been in yet she still was harsh and lacked warmth. I pray I don’t land on her during labor.

During my regular pregnancy visit with her, I waited for a long time in the office for her to see me, she walked in and right away without my permission administered the whooping cough vaccine. That was so unprofessional of her and she really invaded my privacy.

Once I saw the doctor the experience was good, but I still think it is unacceptable to wait an hour and a half after an appointment time to be seen. She is always late.

I am a social worker and tried to give the benefit of the doubt initially, but my frustration with Dr. Swenson's office has been ongoing, continuous and problematic. Specifically, I requested Dr. Swenson to prescribe a medication she had recommended during an office visit (which she was over 30 minutes late ) and was rushed. It took me over a month of repeated follow up to get that medication prescribed. Unfortunately I had negative side effects, and when I requested a medication change, I was once again in a powerless situation. I am still waiting to get this medication changed this time for almost a month. I have wrote a total of 9 messages via this portal requesting a meditation change and have even talked to a nurse, with no results. Basically the message I've got from working with this establishment is "we don't care". I have now got patient relations/advocates involved due to the severity of this medical neglect.

I saw dr Swenson once years ago and feel compelled to write about it now since someone just told me she was an excellent doctor. During my appointment, she argued with me about conducting a pap every year (my insurance covers it) vs every 5 years. Thank god I did not listen to her. Then she said she needed to look at my uterus so she scheduled an in office procedure. She wanted me to take a xanax Beforehand and I absolutely refused because even 1/4 of one will knock me out and I could not drive home. During the procedure, she was giggling and knocked something over. It was odd and unprofessional. I never went back and I am glad. Beware!

Dr. Swenson is very pleasant, knowledgeable and competent. But....the lack of being responsive to questions and concerns is very frustrating!!! I spent days trying to get the doctor's response about post menopausal bleeding. I finally was given an appointment after contacting the office three times over almost a week. Dr. Swenson performed a biopsy and pap and sent me for an ultrasound. She did get back to me via email with the pap and biopsy results, but I received the ultrasound results via email and that showed I have a rather large fibroid. I've been trying for over two weeks now to get a response from her as what the next step is. It is disconcerting to have a medical issue and not able to get answers. I've been told that the doctor has been out of the office. The same reason I got trying to get my initial appointment. I would like to continue using her as my doctor, but if this is an indication of what to expect if anything is out of the ordinary I may have to reconsider.

I had waited for multiple months for an appointment. Finally, the morning of the appointment, I got a phone call that she had to cancel it and I should call back to reschedule. When I called they said she was booked out for another month and made me wait at least 4 weeks for my new appointment. When I finally came, the doctor was running 30-50 minutes behind. I finally saw the doctor, which was a horrendous experience and promptly left.

I had an appointment with Dr Swenson and was told there would be a 20-30 min wait because she was behind. After 45 min I asked how much longer it would be. I was then told a manager would come talk to me. She took me back to her office and told me it would be another hour at least. I was very upset because that is ridiculous, not to mention she secretly told me. What about all the others waiting, they should have been told they had another hour of waiting as well!

I think she has too many patients. She was rushing around the office and appeared very scattered. She is not on top of what her patients need and is not thorough. She was unavailable when I had an emergency and the office did not know how to handle it. She was a referral from my oncologist so I would have thought she would be able to handle my situation and given me the proper amount of attention.

I had a difficult time getting a reply from her/her office staff on an issue I called and messaged about. This went on for about 2 months. This was very frustrating and stressful. Otherwise when I did meet with her, she was professional,caring and explained things to my satisfaction.

Dr. Swenson is very knowledgeable and friendly. She is warm but still very professional. I would recommend her to anyone in the future. She did a great job with my IUD removal and placement of a new one.

The best OBGYN I have ever had. Caring, professional and smart. You feel like you matter and not just another patient. I am so glad I found her after searching 4 years for a new doctor.
