Dr. Ketan Patel, MD

Doctor Patel was our son's primary physician at Dallas Medical Center and Select Specialty hospital in Carrollton. Our son had a long-term illness, and although he is an adult was often not in shape to act as his own advocate during this situation. We did not have a good experience with Dr. Patel in communication at all, either with us on the phone or with Andrew in person. We also experienced several incidents of him making untrue statements. Examples included telling me that no home health options existed for my son, that he spent more time in my son's room than he actually did, and that insurance approval was holding up a needed procedure when they had approved it weeks prior. The actual medical care was adequate although most of that was just provided by nurses under his direction. No direct number to reach him or leave a message was ever provided and we had to ask for calls through the hospital and he only did speak to us about four times total from August 20-November 5.
