Patient concerns
I saw Dr Barton for many years but when I had a high platelet count, after many blood tests he said the next step was a bone marrow. I repeatedly told him I wanted to be twilighted. He refused and told me to push thru the pain. I’m seeing another hematologist and did a bone marrow. Northwestern hospital twilights ALL their patients for a bone marrow. He let me walk away rather than twilight me. I have very good medical insurance. I won’t continue to see a doctor that isn’t concerned about his patients request especially since it was not unreasonable.

In my experience Dr Barton is helpful, compassionate and listens to patients. Dr Barton is also up to date on latest cancer medicine. He is well read and attends national cancer conferences. I have a family member with an unusual type of cancer and thanks to Dr Barton and staff at Loyola, their life has been extended by several years.
