I have been a patient of Dr. Dodd's for about 40 years. And all of my visits are excellent. Staff and nurses friendly and helpful.Dr. Dodd has given me excellent care, and I'd never go to anyone else.

This was a nightmare from the beginning. Went for a colonoscopy. First they sent me to the Kingston office. Turns out Dr. is at Woodstock office. The office is shabby and run down. Staff is incredibly unprofessional. They insisted I keep my shoes on for the colonoscopy! Met Dr. Dodd for five seconds before they put me out. It was like a factory. Next thing I know I'm fully dressed in another room with a nurse screaming my name to wake me. Two minutes later they are shuffling in another patient and telling me I have to go, but when I stand up I begin to fall. My husband catches me and has to carry me out with the nurse. Call later to speak with doc and staff tells me I have 3 tumors, but they were reading someone else's chart. Sent me for more tests, and write the script wrong. Finally get results of additional test but can't get Dr. to call me so I have to go to the lab and google my own diagnosis. This place should be investigated by the NYS dept of health.

Dr. Dodd misdiagnosed me and put me on meds that led to horrible side effects after I desperately sought help for a debilitating issue. He insisted to take them for life and refused to even discuss alternatives. This is after he performed a biopsy during a procedure that led to complications. He fosters long waits & always rushed me out of the room with one visit being clocked in at only 7 mins long after a 40 min wait. He is passive aggressive & dismissive to concerns; he only wants his questions answered & does not allow an open dialog. When I elected to delay a colonoscopy because I couldn’t afford it at the time, he patronized me by lecturing basic economics & how he needs to “pay his staff” in a peculiar attempt to guilt me into it. So unprofessional! The staff were rude and the office felt disorganized. I got a 2nd opinion elsewhere that led to a correct diagnosis, which gave me my life back. I also got that colo when I was able to afford it, which went perfectly. Look elsewhere.

In 2004 I began seeing Dr. Dodd. In my 40's I thought I should start colonoscopy examinations for a wellness regimen. After asking me several questions, it became apparent that the chest pains I was experiencing, and excused, were not just stress related to my job. I never connected that it could be GI related. He suspected achalasia. After tests and endoscopy, it was verified that I did in fact have the condition. Since that time, Dr. Dodd has been managing it well. I trust him completely. His staff is friendly and kind. I ususally communicate with their office through the portal and receive timely information. I'm very satisfied with this practice.

Dr. Dodd failed to diagnose (or even order the right tests) for my symptoms. I went to another provider and they did a scan and diagnosed me with a serious medical condition. One that Dr. Dodd totally missed. If I had stayed in his care, it could have been catastrophic. Find another provider who is more thorough and listens to his patients.

I was anxious for this whole process and procedure. All the staff and Dr Dodd made this easy. For future exams this will be my choice office!

The nurses, office staff, anesthesiologist and Dr. Dodd at Hudson Valley Gastroenterology were all so caring, skillful, professional and kind. I was nervous and, having small veins, I'm always difficult to IV sedate. The nurses held my hand and talked with me kindly, helping to soothe my fears so well. Everyone was very comforting and understanding and I barely had any bruising at all (and no soreness) where the IV needle had been inserted. I have no memory of the actual procedure at all (very thankful that the office uses propofol to sedate) and the kind nurse gently walked me along with my boyfriend to our car once everything was finished. Such excellent care! I highly recommend Hudson Valley Gastroenterology!

My experience with the office staff, nursing professionals, the anesthesiologist, and Dr. Dodd was excellent! From the first phone contact I felt personally cared for. I was grateful to have such a professional group available to me without a long wait for an appointment. My contact with this office and Dr. Dodd felt like the way it used to be when making a doctor's appointment -- professional, personalized care without months of waiting to be seen! Thank you!

Perfect in every way. Staff and Dr. Dodd cheerful, friendly, and efficient. Easy access in Woodstock. In and out early morning with everyone bright-eyed and ready for me. Can't ask for more.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. dodd for years. He is the most kind and thorough physician….I wish he could be our primary care physician! The nurses and staff are always friendly and helpful. The Anesthesiologists have always been great. I cannot recommend this doctor more highly.
