If I could give zero stars I would. I am an 18 yo female who started having chest pains. I went to a local med clink and an ekg showed abnormalities and I was directed to Dr. Ryan. The first meeting with Dr. Ryan, he only referred to my previous ekg and did not even show or mention the ekg he had just gotten. He concluded that I most likely just had inflammation in my chest and used the term bronchitis to describe it which was odd. He also said that the reason for the inflammation was because of a virus. I had not been sick in months so was confused about that. He prescribed steroids that’s brought back chest pain after it was gone. Second meeting was a stress test that showed no abnormalities. Dr. Ryan suggested I go see a gastroenterologist even though my mom is a nurse who works with gastroenterologists and the first thing I did to relieve my pain was take antacids which didn’t work. I also waited an hour alone in a room to get my second ekg and stress test paperwork.

Dr. Ryan takes time with each patient. He is very thorough. He was the only person that figured out what was wrong after visiting UAB and Vanderbilt. He is the best!

Office wait times can be long but Dr Ryan has always taken the time to answer my questions and explain things to me. If I've ever thought something was going on regarding chest pain, dizziness, etc, he's taken great care of me in a very quick manner. His nurse practitioner, Felicia is a God send. They both are very compassionate people. I'm young and I dread the day that I have to find a new Dr when he retires.

Awesome, been using him 17 years. As much time as you need with him, which is the reason for the somewhat longer wait times. Would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Ryan is not a good doctor. He refused to see one of his African American patients after he placed stents in her that she did not give consent for. Not only did he place the unconsented stents in her, he was not qualified to do so and placed them in the WRONG area. I am warning you, do not go to this doctor, especially if you are of color because he will try to take advantage of you. After she told him what and actual thoracic surgeon told her he would not see her at his facility anymore!!!

Doctor Ryan is as good as they get. He knows his business and he is patient -oriented. When he is with you, you are his only concern. He listens and answers questions carefully and avoids technical terms that others use to impress their patients. Because he never hurries his visits waiting time can be long. Unfortunately the office staff is not like Ryan. They resent patients, bark at them and make getting in to see the doctor difficult.

I thought my visit was taking a little long; when Dr. Ryan got to me he spent time explaining ,clarifying details of my treatment that no previous DR. had taken the time to explain. I learned quite a bit and the information and time he calmly spent was much appreciated. This was the missing part of treatment that previous doctors never provided; leaving questions unanswered ,not explaining side effects of meds or actual results of tests; rather than a quick "it's ok ". He is a compassionate man.
