Dr. Kevin Shandera, MD

I recently had a female problem. I found Dr Shandera. He is wonderfully caring and concerned with the patients issues and well being. He is a fantastic surgeon and explained everything in detail to me prior to and after surgery. I simply cannot recommend him enough I am very very satisfied and only wish he could be my primary physician

Got in early, nurse was friendly and efficient; Shandera hadn't read the info I had just given the nurse and rushed through the meeting with a wall around him. No personal connection at all.

I visited doctor Shandera for the first time and was treated very poorly. First, I asked the admitting nurse if I could see the doctor and she insisted that I give urine and take an ultrasound of my bladder. I told her that I had some important issues that recently have come up regarding my kidneys and needed to tell him about this condition before I would be treated. She said you have a high PSA and repeated this several times in an accusatory tone and I said my PSA has been high for 25 years or so and I have had several biopsies during this time and needed to explain tmy condition to the doctor before any treatment. The nurse continued to proclaim that my PSA was high and I must provide urine and have an ultrasound test before speaking with the doctor. In addition, I told her I didn’t have any urine for the test because I had recently urinated in the restroom. I’m perplexed that I wasn’t allowed to explain my situation to the doctor? So, I left the office.

Good care when can get it … BEWARE that this is an Eisenhower office; so no one there answers the phone

A wonderful, reassuring dr. Has always been patient with me and answers all my questions clearly. Tells me to let him worry for me and I do with confidence.

I had an appointment with Dr. Shandera’s on September 27, 2022 for a cystoscopy. His office staff was very cordial and friendly, his nurse was also very professional, respectful, and compassionate. In preparation for the cystoscopy I was requested to remove my clothing from the waist down. The nurse completed the preparation, and my feet were placed in the stirrups in anticipation of the doctor doing the procedure. After lying there for over 30 minutes in this embarrassing position, with no indication of when Dr. Shandera would come and do the procedure, I got dressed. The nurse was waiting outside the door as I left. She, again, apologized for the delay and my discomfort as I left the office.

Excellent, friendly staff. Dr. Shandera was very easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. He included me in decisions about my treatment plan. I highly recommend this doctor.

I wanted two months to get an appointment with an urologist. I was stunned it was with a male doctor. If I wanted a woman I had to wait another two months. Dr. Shandra was able to find a solution for the OAB issue, my GP said that I had to learn to live with. Definitely would recommend others to see him.

Dr Shandera has been my husband urologist for several years. This year my husband had major problems . Dr shandera was always there when I had concerns and questions about my husband care. There were times in the middle of the night I called and the on call number notified dr Shandera and even in the middle of the night he woke up and called me to answer my concerns, I feel not many doctors would wake up and take a call . I would definitely recommend Dr Shandera because he works with his patients and care givers.

Getting the right prescription is difficult with this doctor. I've never run into more problems than I have with Dr. Shandera's office. Twice now they've sent the wrong dosage to the pharmacy for a refill. When I asked them to resend the right dosage, they sent it to the wrong pharmacy (I use a mail order pharmacy, not a brick and mortar one). The lady I talked to said "Oh, you should have told us!" Well, I did.......maybe you should have listened to me more carefully.

I had been referred to the Dr. from the emergency room. He spent a lot of time with me explaining possible problems, ordered tests that were absolutely necessary to find out the problem. I was very impressed. My wife was a nurse for more than 30 yrs. was also impressed, he address us both and explained everything with models, etc.. He took aq lot of time with me., Thanks, Doc....

He was the worst Doctor I have ever seen. He was rude to me, extremely rough and made condescending remarks to me. He made remarks about my eating habits after seeing my weight even though he knew nothing about me. I would not send my worst enemy to this man. This is a sensitive area and women want to be made to feel comfortable. This man literally shoved an instrument inside me and made me cry. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
