All around awful experience
Dr. Khurram Barolia called me before my appointment to 'get a sense of what I needed'. Within seconds of speaking to him, I could tell he already had an opinion about me without even meeting me or knowing anything about the condition I was born with. He made me feel small and disrespected. I asked if he knew my condition, he stated he did not. I asked if he could try to familiarize himself with it before our appointment. He said he had no time (yet he had time to call me). I had mentioned earlier in the 'conversation' that I don't drive due to my condition. He asked if I wanted a phone appointment instead of coming in. My appointment was in a couple hours, of course I had made arrangements to be there. After speaking with him I was in tears and totally defeated. I cancelled my appointment as I could not bring myself to be in the same room with a doctor with that kind of bedside manner.

Horrible Doctor will never follow up with you
Ive had this doctor for some time. (horrible horrible decision on my end) only reason why I still have him is because recently I've had some severe health issues and need a note for work since the ER did not give me one. I will be getting a new doctor after this as I have never met him and every single meeting I schedule with him he cancels and when following up as to why he says he can only speak to me with an appointment. Recently when trying to reach him and ask for a note, he had his advice nurse email me and left a number to contact her. upon, calling the number they send me directly to the Kaiser general number. I would highly advise that if you are looking for a primary care doctor and find that basic communication about your health and follow ups from your doctor is important to you THEN DONT CHOOSE DR. BAROLIA. On the other hand if you enjoy feeling confused and frustrated about youth health because your doctor refuses to reach out to you then he is perfect for you.

If I could give 0 stars I would
The two times I went with sudden and severe fatigue, always associated everything with my weight. It didn’t matter what concerns or issues I went to have checked out, he always found a way to connect it to weight loss. The first visit he compared me to my sister as well, saying “I just saw your sister and she looks to be in good shape, what does she do differently than you?” For starters I am a very active individual and do not consider myself fat; I am 5’3” and 150 pounds. He even went so far as to say “When I was in college I wanted to look good for people, and I imagine it’s the same for you. Try going to the gym more” and even when I asked what diets or workouts he recommended, he said he didn’t know and to refer to Google. He said my fatigue might be because of sleep apnea, which overweight people tend to get. The results of my sleep study were negative for sleep apnea. And my problem was never resolved ? A doctor who gaslights, does not listen, and fat-shames. I do not recommend.

The worst physician I've ever experienced. Does not care about my health, does not listen, refuses to examine, does not want to get to the bottom of issues. Poor communicator.

Some people shouldn’t become doctors, this doctor is by far up on that list. Arrogant, and doesn’t know what he is talking about. Do yourself a favor and get someone else, before you get diagnosed by this doctor.

He is always on time. He seems friendly, willing to send me to other specialists as needed. I would recommend friends to him. Lorenzo

This doctor's autobiography on KP.org mentions how he wants to "educate" his patients about their health. I hardly got that experience from him. I had a pressing concern and he downplayed my issue severely. His prognosis was incorrect, and my follow ups with other (and more empathic) providers further verified that. His "I'm-better/smarter/too busy-for-you" disposition is the most disappointing a doctor could ever have, and I will be sure to never schedule an appointment with him again.

Specifically asked him to order a Quantiferon Gold Blood Tb Test for my nursing program, and after I completed said test I was informed that it was in fact a T-spot test- which is more expensive and not accepted by my nursing school (although they later did accept it). When I showed up in person I had to speak back and forth with a medical assistant to have Dr. Barolia write specifically what I needed on my paper, and it took him 3 times to finally include all the info I needed.

This is the worst so called doctor that I ever had the misfortune of seeing in my entire life. His bedside manner is very bad, he does not listen to you because he already has an opinion of you and what is wrong with you the second you meet him and he is the most arrogant person I've ever met.
