UNPROFESSIONAL - AVOID THIS OFFICE
Unprofessional! Bad Business! My father had a very disappointing experience with this office due to their unprofessional handling of appointments and treatment of clients. The original appt time was changed from the 2pm to 8am the day before the appt. with a voicemail reminder without consulting. Ultimately, we agreed to the 8am appointment. Day of the appointment, we travelled 20 miles in morning weekday traffic. At arrival, without any notice, the office staff just said the appt was changed to 10:30 am, without any apology and asked to just wait at the office or come back later! This complete lack of communication and disregard for customers' time is unacceptable. We had to travel in morning traffic for 1.30 hrs to just be asked to then wait another 2 hrs is absolutely unprofessional. No effort was made to apologize or address the inconvenience. I would never recommend this place to anyone! Avoid at all cost!

Dr. Doan is not a knowledgeable doctor. She was unable to detect why my eye was swollen and made no recommendations for improvement. Instead of going back to her for the follow up she recommended, I went to a different ophthalmologist where they immediately detected the issue, gave me drops and recommendations on preventative care so the problem doesn’t occur again. Sorry Dr. Doan! Perhaps if you spend a little more time with your patients you will be able to identify what’s really going on with them and help them.

I’ve seen many bad reviews on other sites but decided to leave a review on here- save yourself and have your doctor refer you somewhere else that has more empathy, knowledge , and care for patients needs- specially if they are Spanish speakers with interpreters before my moms appointment I filled out her pre appointment paperwork and selected all the applicable concerns ( I have copies of the paperwork) and selected that her eyes had pain and sensitivity and many other things. My mom went in after waiting for 3 months for her appointment ( we rescheduled ONE app on our own) - my mom has cataracts and her primary doctor sent her because she had puffy eyes, pain and sensitivity to light and wanted to make sure she was okay because this isn’t normal. During the appointment my brother with in with my mom- the appointment took literally 10 min- completely rushed and both my mom and brother felt like they couldn’t even talk. At the end she asked “any questions” and my mom was confused because she didn’t think the appointment was already over so she said no. Nothing was addressed except what my mom already knew ( that she doesn’t need cataract surgery yet) - I feel bad for the staff there, they seem scared of her too. My mom went to Pearl eye vision to renew a prescription for glasses a month ago and they ALSO told her just like her doctor that she needed to urgently see a specialist - yet “Dr Kim Doan” said my moms “perfectly fine and nothings wrong” LOL- if you’re reading this you better NOTE that in her chart. I scheduled a new specialist for my mom just now. Terrible terrible place to go if you want to find answers- just greed for money but no actual passion to help patients feel better and get their eyes healthy. Less than 10 min. My opthamoligist saw me last week here in Hawaii and took 45 min, assessing me and my eyes and even my lifestyle Avoid this place - I just feel bad I let my mom go here.

Worst Experience
Got worst experience today at Dr kims office. I scheduled the appointment for today. I was told at time of scheduling the appointment that my appointment is at 10:15 and i have to reach at office 10-15 mins early i.e by 10am if i don't fill the forms online. When i reached at 10:15am the office staff started arguing with me that i was scheduled at 10am. When i requested them that my appointment was scheduled at 10:15 and i have taken day off today from office. Staff started arguing with me and started telling me that we don't care about someone's personal situation and doctor Kim seems to be supporting them.

Doctor was rude and condescending. Among other things, told me I have cataracts but said nothing more about it, leaving me wondering what I should do next. Told me 4 times I "was illegal to drive." Asked me questions and never gave me time to answer one before asking the next one. I have never had such an experience with any other doctor.
