I was referred to Dr. Atkinson for headaches. Virtual appointments only so not sure my diagnosis is accurate. Communication was non existent between appointments. She never responded to questions on my chart; never responded to numerous phone calls regarding prescribed medications. Her staff was just as non responsive. I am shocked at the lack of interest in patient care. How could an organization like Jefferson Health tolerate this lack of interest in patient care?

She was not seeing patients in person because of covid. Did a teledoc appt. ordered bloodwork and told me to call the office to go over results. 5 phone calls, several my chart emails. The woman never answered me. I’ve never had this type of experience with any doctor I’ve seen. Never called me back. Never answered my chart emails. My 87 year old mother was suffering and this woman did not return calls or emails. No one from her office returned my calls.

We never saw the doctor due to the complete incompetence of her office staff. We waited 2 months for an appointment and the day before I called to ask about supplying prior test results. I was told that the doctor could not see my daughter because she wasn’t 18 and the appointment was cancelled. This after speaking with the office THREE times and each time providing my daughter’s birth date. Never was I asked my daughter’s age nor did the office question her birth year of 2003. Very disappointing experience, very rude and incompetent staff.

Dr. Atkinson is patient, informative, and most important to me she LISTENS & hears what her patient is trying to convey. I was struggling in pain and lack of sleep during my visit, it was hard to focus but she was was understanding. Also I didn't feel rushed during my visit. She returns calls & emails promptly, in the past with other doctors I would hear back from a clerical worker or an assitant, not with this doctor. I sent a email requesting a phone call one afternoon. It was getting late but at 7:45pm my phone rang & it was her! This is the second review I have ever written in my life that is how strongly I feel about recommending this Dr. to other people who suffer with any neurological issues.

I agree she is a good listener but not good clinically. She wasted years of my time and her pace is too slow, I kept wondering why she isn't doing more for concussion. I had vision problems diagnosed by a Neuro-Optometrist that she dismissed. She wrote in my notes I was malingering my symptoms for disability. Unbelievable. In that case stop treating me and refer me to someone else. When she didn't know that Lasix and Furosamide are the same drug I was out of there. Go to a Board Certified Dr.

Good listener and that's about it clinically. Would not reccomend. If a Dr is easy to get an appt. with and has no board certifications maybe there's a reason. Caveat Emptor,

Misdiagnosed me. Also just couldn't care less when I had a serious concussion. Went to Penn and they ordered the proper tests, and I had the proper diagnosis, which allowed me to get treatment. If I would have listened to Dr Atkinson, I would have been in serious trouble.

She was my Dr. for 5yrs and more at Crozer and I was shock when she left. She listen to what the problem that you was having. Then she would discuss with you about what you wanted to do. I misses her because she was a friend also.
