Caring and Thorough Primary Care Physician!
Dr Kersten has been my PCP for about 15 years now. She is a wonderful, caring, and very thorough doctor. She has never made me feel rushed during any of my appointments. She takes the time to ask and listen to my concerns. She validates them and points me in the direction that I need for follow up care, if needed. She has always answered any questions I have sent her via the patient portal in a very timely manner. There have been a lot of changes to the healthcare industry, especially lately. She has tried very hard not to let her high standard of care suffer, which is not always easy! I am very appreciative!

No problem with Dr. Kersten, it is the horrible phone infrastructure that I am leaving the practice for. I cannot deal with the incompetency of the referral system and NO ONE answering the phone in a year and a half of being a pt here. Lynne Wholley

This review is specific to Dr. Kersten. The doctor’s office itself is very busy – when you arrive the check in process is efficient (self-check in available too) and they run on time. I initially had Katie as my NP who I really connected with and could tell she genuinely cared about me as a patient. I started as a patient and shortly after experienced a significant life trauma and loss. I only met Dr. Kersten one time and during this visit she was condescending, judgmental, and labeled me as something based on my behavior during a time of loss and significant grief. I moved and found a new PCP who informed me this doctor formally documented this label without discussing it with me or talking about it with me. Also during my follow up visits I was transitioned to another NP without my knowledge/consent (Kelsey). Please avoid Dr. Kersten at all costs – I found that as a doctor she lacks empathy, compassion or understanding. I have never met or experienced such a degrading doctor before D

I have been a patient of Dr Kersten’s for 20 years. Much has changed but the one consistent element has been compassionate thoughtful care from both Dr Kersten and her staff. We have formed a wonderful collaboration that has helped me focus on elements of my health and take ownership for its improvement. She provided practical advice that is easy to put into practice.

Been a patient of Dr. Kersten for 2 years and have never even met her only NP's. Called the refill line 2x in a week starting on 3/25/20 and never got a call on my refill, even the pharmacy sent a request. when I called the office to follow up, I was met with unprofessional and argumentative staff. The lady insisted she called and left a message three days prior. She called the wrong number even after I left it twice on the refill line. All information was updated in Nov when we moved and she continued to deny this was done. She said the Dr. is requiring me to come in even though I have one scheduled in Sept. earliest I could get for my physical. I have had asthma since childhood, I am 50yrs old ,and never been asked by any of my Dr.'s to make an appt. for my inhaler refill! The lady then accused me of yelling and strangely counted to 3 and hung up!! The office refused to give me her name for a complaint. Covid 19 Dr!! Come in for a refill, Really? Were is the patients safety there!

I have seen Dr. Kirsten for many years, however over time, she has become so overbooked that my yearly physical appoints are out a year and a half and only if I see her nurse practioner. For years she was pleasant and appeared concerned about my well being but now she is irritable and seems more interested in getting her notes typed then what I have to say. She complained to me about how busy she is and how much time it takes every night for her to do her notes. Very disappointing.

Similar to other reviews I’ve seen I also got hit with a $400 new patient charge that I wasn’t made aware when I scheduled a physical. What I thought was an appointment for my physical was just a way to charge me the $400. I had to come back for the actual physical. The physical covered all the same areas as the “new patient meeting” plus many more areas and included an EKG. The bill for that was much less than the “….welcome, open up your wallet appointment”. I needed the physical for work so I ate it. I only had the need for a yearly physical and it was always with the nurse practitioner who was very nice so I stayed with the practice. Recently I had a medical emergency that required hospitalization. I was told by the Dr. Kersten’s office that I had to go in for a follow-up after a stay in the hospital in order to get a referral to the specialist. I told them I already had the appointment and didn’t need the referral with my insurance plan. I was told I had to come in anyways as Dr

Dr. Kersten is the best! Which is unfortunate, because it's IMPOSSIBLE to get a referral through this office. I've been with them for years and each time I need to call literally 15-20 times just to get them to pay attention to me - and by then I'm requesting a 'last minute request'. I can't take it anymore so I'm going to find a new doctor. It's really unfortunate.

I have been going to dr Kersten for at least 10 years. I have found her to be caring and personable. I always feel that she listens and spends enough time with me during visits. The only caveat is that it is VERY difficult to get an appointment for a physical with her.

I had my first appt with Dr. Kersten today. I was ushered into the exam room quickly, with no wait time for the tech to take my vitals, record my history and administer an EKG. I then saw the NP, who discussed my issues, and offered a plan to address them. She was professional, very personable and engaging. I then saw Dr. Kersten. Once again, I found her to be professional and very personable. I left feeling confident in my choice of a new primary, and will recommend this practice to others.

She is dismissive and condescending. Uninterested in listening. Seems rushed and anxious to write prescriptions. I liked the practice a lot more years ago. Perhaps the move to a very upscale location forced them to take on too many patients.

Dr Kersten is my primary care physician. When I get to see her, she is really great. But I have had really awful experiences with the office staff. They won't allow me to have a physical with her saying she is booked for over a year and that I will have to see the NP. I did that for one year and then felt it was my turn to see her the next year, but was again denied, so I didn't have a physical last year. Again she is booked thru March of 2017. So if you want a doctor you can see, she's not it.

So many bad experiences w/ Dr. Kersten, I sought out a review to let others know! First visit, good, but all since (for yrs) leave me feeling patronized - not in partnership. Instead of looking deeper for what I note, she asks if I saw someone else for it. No concern, no tests to check it, no plan of action or referrals unless I push for them. Basic vitals & I'm rushed out. Does this across the board. Office & her assistants are great. But she really should be checked by an agency.
