Dr. Rao is an amazing doctor. He didn’t give up on finding out what was causing my stomach pain & weight loss. After he found a mass during my colonoscopy, he recommended an incredible surgeon to remove it. He even called me a few weeks after my surgery to see how I was recovering. I will definitely be going back to him for my future colonoscopies!

Did a stool test and told me I probably had Crohn's based on the high inflammation in the results (289 - should be under 50). Scheduled me for a colonoscopy a month out. A month of pure anxiety. Went through the whole prep, took 3 days off of work (1 for last-minute clearance, 1 for prep, 1 for procedure), did the whole AWFUL prep. Spent HUNDREDS. Day of, literally in the OR, he realizes he misread the report and I didn't have inflammation (it was actually 1.1, not 289). Canceled colonoscopy.

Dr. Rao was recommended to me by a co-worker. Don't be fooled by his young age and youthful demeanor (smile). By my account he is very knowledgeable (intelligent) and genuinely caring. He speaks WITH you and not AT you. He listens and explains himself well. NOT quick to push meds or procedures if not immediately necessary. I will continue to use Dr. Rao and will recommend to family and friends.

Doesn’t ask enough questions; does a lot of testing but seldom makes any substantive diagnosis. Seems impatient and appears to lack any intuition or investigative qualities. Was ready to recommend a surgical procedure based on a hunch. Although he’ll claim to, he seems to lack empathy for a prolonged condition - at least that has been my experience.

Very professional, friendly, does not talk down to you, answers all questions with no attitude (like why are you asking that you should know or what you don't understand). GREAT gastrointoralogist. Great personality

He really spends time to work with me on my health issues, including the ones that are only tangentially related to the gastro issues I have. He takes time to walk through my test results and make sure I understand what they mean. He takes a holistic look at my treatment plan. He's been amazingly caring and I hope he stays!
