Not a good fit for elderly patients
Technically Dr. Silvey is a very, very good Dr. With that said, in my opinion a Dr not only needs to be knowledgeable they have to have people skills. In the people skills arena is where, in my opinion, Dr Silvey may not be your best choice. As another commented Dr Silvey treated her elderly parent poorly. I won't go as far to say she treated my elderly parent poorly but she could have treated her better IMO. Between my elderly parents poor hearing and Dr Silvey's speech impediment there was frustration by both, but when communication broke down Dr Silvey, again IMO became very condescending. Again she's a very proficient Dr just the bedside manner could be better. She maybe better served caring for younger patients rather than the elderly

I feel so grateful that I found Dr. Silvey
On both visits, Dr. Silvey spent over an hour with me. She is one of the two best doctors I've every encountered. She listened carefully to each issue, walked with me for 6 minutes around the office complex for the 6-Minute Walk test, made referrals and followed through on everything she said she would. She is extremely personable, knowledgeable and compassionate. I feel very lucky to have found her. Her nurse, Jackie, is also wonderful.

She treated my elderly parent with total disrespect. She slammed the door on her way out of the room when asked a question stating that she did not have time to talk about it.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Silvey, a video introduction. My PC of 12 years suddenly retired, so I was left with choosing a new one - not easy to do at age 81. Not only did Dr. Silvey accept me as a patient, she's a geriatric specialist! Our meeting went well - she was knowledgeable & thorough. I feel lucky to have her as my PC

The first couple of appointments were great. About the 3rd appointment she was rushing and told me we were only allowed to discuss 2 topics per xx amount of time. She's developed an opinion about me and it's obvious. I don't think it's fair because she makes me feel like a liar.
