He was not afraid to speak up
I went to him for a knee issue. He read my MRI on my knee and said he didn't agree with the other doctor as I had arthritis and another issue. He said we can do the gel shot and see if that helps in not , then surgery. He was not afraid to disagree with another. Now I am going to seek his advice on my shoulder.

Hip Replacement Surgery
Dr. Alden did my hip replacement. He is an expert in the field. Easy to talk to, answered all my questions, I did not feel rushed. I am now pain free. My leg length difference is corrected. I no longer walk with a limp.

Talented Physician
In Dec., 2019 at a University Hospital in Chicago, I had to have a girdlestone procedure on my right hip. The surgery caused me to need a walker and a 5" heel/sole lift on my right shoe. The reconstruction surgery was canceled due to medical problems. Since the surgeon was moving out of state, he recommended his associates to do this hip reconstruction. None of these doctors would take the risk. Fortunately, I got an appointment with Dr. Alden who said he would do it. He gave me a thorough explanation as to possible neurologic/vascular complications. He did the surgery with NO complications. I now have equal leg length and can walk with a cane. Dr. Alden has extraordinary surgical talent and patients are fortunate to have him as their doctor. I am a retired Orthopedic Surgeon who practiced for 30 years. James R. Cox MD

Highly recommend Dr. Alden! After two unsuccessful surgeries at another hospital I came to see Dr. Alden. From the first appointment I found him and his staff pleasant, professional and organized. I had extensive damage to my knee from two prior surgeries and he performed extensive reconstructed surgery. The hospital experience was excellent and the staff was professional, kind and attentive to my needs. Dr. Alden was extremely professional and provided excellent care with a very successful outcome! The service they provided for my spouse while at the hospital was fantastic. I have also sent my brother for knee surgery and he said it was the best care and Dr. Alden was excellent. Dr. Alden’s physicians assistant, Larry is thorough, professional and explains procedures easily. I am back to work and want to “Thank “ Dr. Alden, Larry, and the staff for their excellent service!

I had total hip replacement of my right hip, on 12/17/2018 by Dr. Alden. The results are extremely positive. The recovery was was way easier than I had imagined. Dr. Alden took the time to explain exactly what to expect. His calm demeaner made me feel very comfortable and took all the fear out of the surgery. The process went so well, several years later (10/6/2021) I had my other hip replaced. As of today (12/15/2021) I have 2 brand new hips and I am totally pain free!! If anyone has been dealing with hip pain (as I did for so long) I highly recommend Dr. Kris Alden for his expertise. He truly cares about his patients before AND after the surgery. Thank Kris Alden for my early Christmas present of being pain free for 2022!

Dr. Alden performed my total hip replacement surgery in June 2020. I saw him for my year check. He is a wonderful, caring & an excellent doctor. I’m 74 years old & have been back to 100% for many months. I am so thankful for Dr. Alden. Would not even consider anyone else. My husband would say the same, as Dr. Alden did a remarkable job on his knee replacement.

Dr.Alden really took time to discuss all my fears and worries and speak honestly with me. I was so afraid to have a hip replacement, especially during Covid. Now, months later I have my life back, I can walk, ride my bike and even do some yoga! The surgery went so smoothly, and the recovery is so much quicker than I expected. He is an outstanding surgeon!

I saw Dr. Alden's physician assistant Larry for a pre-evaluation. He was thorough and very kind and informative. A nurse in the office did a initial assessment, and I had xrays in the same adjoining office with immediate results. Very impressed with Dr. Alden's staff and heard the Dr. himself is wonderful.

Dr. Alden is the best. I came to him “hobbling” and in pain with two very arthritic knees. He replaced them both 7 months apart and I’m doing great. The surgery was quick and I left the hospital that day walking and feeling good both times. During the next few weeks while I recovered, I had great support from his staff and he sent me to top-notch physical therapists that helped me get back to my normal… not just minimally “functional.” I’m glad I don’t have any more knees to replace, but if I did, I wouldn’t choose anyone but Dr. Alden to do the surgery.

I recently had anterior hip replacement performed by Dr. Alden. My opposite hip was replaced about 5 years ago with a different orthopaedic surgeon. I was amazed and pleased with what a quick recovery I had, as well as return to near function in a very short period of time. I would highly recommend Dr. Alden to anyone considering hip replacement. The whole process, from scheduling the initial appointment to my 6 month post op visit, was entirely effortless.

Dr Aldin replaced my right hip March 15, 2021 and I feel great! I arrived at the hospital at five in the morning and I was at home 3 o’clock the same day. I even walked up the stairs and slept in my bed that same day. I’m a very active person and very grateful to Dr Aldin for the amazing job he did for me and would highly recommend him and his team.

The experience I had with Dr. Kris Alden still has me in wonder and amazement. I had a full hip replacement. I left my house at 5am and was back home at noon walking myself up stairs into my house on my own. His care, expertise and knowledgeable staff made the experience incredible. Imagine, I am calling surgery incredible. That's the experience I had with Dr. Kris Alden and I would recommend him to everyone who needs surgery in his area of expertise. Follow his rules and recommendations and the outcome will amaze you as well.

I went to Dr. Kris Alden at Hinsdale Orthopaedics after a year of frustrating care at another orthopedic facility. Immediately I was told my hips were horrible from the X-ray and I needed a hip replacement. They listen to you!! both Dr. Alden and the PA- Larry Kocen were kind caring and take time to explain things and answer all questions. Wonderful!! (Which was not my previous experience elsewhere) I was in for outpatient anterior surgery which had an amazing recovery. Even the home healthcare workers were amazed at Dr. Alden’s incision and my recovery as well. I was back driving, walking miles, bending and doing all the things I struggled with for the last two years. Well worth my drive for the much better health care.

I had my right hip replaced. Dr. Alden did a great job and everything went perfectly. He is a great doctor. I had no problems at all and healed fast. As far as doing the operation, I would definitely recommend Dr. Alden. However, Dr. Alden does not spend much time with the patient before and after the actual surgery. His assistant Larry is so great and funny and did most of the explaining and pre-op and post-op appointments. Rarely saw Dr. Alden during those times. Judy also was great and could contact her anytime. Dr. Alden's staff is perfect for the minor things, whereas Dr. Alden actually did the operation which is the most important because you want it done right. The rest of the experience was made more pleasant with his excellent staff.

Dr. Kris Alden is amazing, he has replaced both my hips, two years apart. I walked out of the surgery both times, no complications feeling great. No pain, no problems, he was readily available for all my questions. I would recommend him for anyone! He even works on patients having problems from prior surgeries involving other surgeons. I do not know of any doctors willing to touch another doctors work. Dr. Alden is in a class of his own, double board certified, and he will take the best care of any patient from the beginning consult to well beyond the surgery. Fantastic doctor, better human being!!
