Dr. Krishna Nirmel, MD

Saw Dr. Normal in the late nineties. He sent me for a lumbar MRI and said there was nothing he could do for me. As I had dehydrated disc’s. I was in pain all the time. I finally saw another neurosurgeon and had lumbar decompression surgery. It helped me for at least twenty years. I am an RN. I was able to work to retirement. In 2018, I had to have spinal surgery again to relieve spinal stenosis and scoliosis. Two years later, I had it revised in Boston by the absolutely best neurosurgeon that I have ever met! I have been pain free ever since. I now have rods, screws, and a basket-like metal stabilizers in place. what a relief and miracle. Too bad Dr. Nirmel was so fast to dismiss me! Shame on you! Your nurse practitioner was very condescending to me!!!

I found Dr. Nirmel to be very knowledgeable, friendly, patient and through. He spent time explaining my condition and the treatment I needed in order to function without executing pain. His exam is not traditional yet effective. He answered two pages of questions I asked. He made sure I understood exactly what he would do in my surgery. He ordered all studies, MRI, X-Rays, labs spinal brace before my surgery. I decided to have extensive spinal surgery with him. He picks his team for the surgery, other surgeons and nurses, I found very impressive. Denise, Office Manager, reached out to my insurance co. and sent all documents they requested. She also made all appointments for pre-op and post op. I hope this review helps you in your decision when picking your Neurosurgeon. If I needed spinal surgery again, he would definitely be my surgeon. I would highly recommend him. Enclosing-I'll miss you Dr. Nirmel, I can't thank-you enough for giving me my life back. Stay well.

Dr. Nirmel is a wonderful doctor. He has operated on me several times and my last operation has left me feeling great in a long time. He listens intensely and does not rush you. He is a very caring and understanding doctor. His office staff is also very nice. He has changed my life for the better.

I had a 2nd surgery to fix what Nirmel did to my spine. I had that second surgery after recovering from Spinal Meningitis that I got from a procedure that Nirmel did to find out why his surgery was not working for my back. A Milo-gram (sp) that resulted in streptococcal salivarious spinal meningitis that put me in ICU, then FUH and the a transfer to BWH. And then corrective surgery on L2/3 that Nirmel didn’t fix in the first place.. Brain swell resulted in damage to my Cerebellum

Dr Nirmel performed kyphoplasty on my mom’s spine essentially cementing a fractured vertebrae. Within 24 hours she was pain free. And what is most amazing ... my mom is 93 years old. Now she is up and waking. I am so grateful to Dr. Nirmel, just so grateful. He is highly skilled, compassionate, with a calm warm demeanor. If I ever need the services of a neurosurgeon, this will be my doctor. You will not be disappointed.

Dr Nirmel is one of the best doctors I have ever met, unfortunately his secretary is the worst I have ever encountered. Due to this it has drastically affected my overall experience and level of care.
