Dr. Kristen Carroll, MD

Dr. Carroll has been seening my child for 18 years. Every symptom my child has she finds a solution to. She understands the difficulty my child has in and out of school with her disabilities. Dr. Carroll is a very good ear for my daughters struggles and pain issues. She is not just a surgeon, she also understands life challenges. Helps meet the needs in all complex situations in my childs life.

My son has been seeing Dr. Carroll for over 13 years. Not only is she as real as they come, but the genuine approach with empathy is very appreciated. She makes us feel like a million bucks every visit we have. She tells us how it is and is very open, honest, and direct in the direction we have to consider. Her thought process and approach make our decision process easy. Thank you for being the best!

Dr. Carroll changes our lives. My son has cerebral palsy and had a very difficult time walking. Before we had surgery, my son would walk with an extreme inward rotation and severely bent knees. Dr. Carroll carefully and thoughtfully made a plan for him and performed the most amazing surgery to help him walk with very little to no problems at all. Even though the thought of going through this surgery was scary and difficult, Dr. Carroll supported us the entire way through. She is kind, extremely smart, and truly cares about the well being of the children she works with. She also supported me as his mother throughout the entire journey. Without her, my son would have eventually ended up in a wheel chair. This has completely changed his life. He can walk, run, jump, and play basketball with ease. Thank you Dr. Carroll, you are the best.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Carroll! My son had been given the run around for several years, begging doctors to help him not hurt so bad when he walks. Dr. Carroll was the first Ortho to actually LISTEN to him and said “let’s figure this out and try to fix this!” He was in surgery a few weeks later and has been pushing hard in PT to try and help himself get stronger. She listens to her patients and takes into account THEIR feelings and thoughts on things. She makes you feel like family and even checked in on him on her days off while he was in hospital. She said, I have a patient in the hospital healing, so I’m here, where I need to be. If your kiddo is needing surgery on their legs, you want her as your kiddos doc. 110% recommend her over and over again.

My son (13 years old) had a rare medical condition and after visiting countless medical providers throughout many states, we met Dr. Carroll. We have never met a doctor that is as kind and friendly as Dr. Carroll. She took the time to explain our son's condition in laymen's terms. She was so kind and gentle with our son throughout the entire experience. She takes the time to explain things to both the patient (child) and parents. She spends as much time as it takes to explore options and communicate information. She is so nurturing and kind to our son. We had many concerns consenting to a surgery and Dr. Carroll performed many tests and explored all options with us. When we first met Dr. Carroll our son was not able to walk. A year ago, Dr. Carroll performed surgery on our son and today our son is walking a half mile each day. We are so grateful to Dr. Carroll for working miracles in our son's life. She is an expert in her field and one of the best medical providers around.

Caring, loving, knowledgeable, most wonderful doctor and person. My 7 year old daughter with mild CP loves and trusts Dr. Carroll completely. Dr. Carroll has worked wonders with her over the years and we have total confidence and trust in her abilities. Recently she performed surgery on my daughter's leg to treat her toe walking. We are amazed how successful the surgery was and how well my daughter is walking with her heel down. Thank you Dr. Carroll you are a real life fairy godmother by transforming a little girl's future for the better.

My son has one sided CP. as he is growing and getting older, his left leg was getting tighter and no matter what he did with the AFO, he was developing sores from his leg fighting the AFO. We tried Dispor, bandages, cushions, new AFO’s. Dr Carrol is extremely personable and patient. I know she was waiting for us to come to terms my son was faculty leg surgery and we were so afraid him going under for another surgery. Best thing we ever did. He recovered and can walk better than ever before. Doesn’t fight the AFO anymore. She was so great with leading up to and post surgery to be there for us and our son. She prescribed we see physical therapy at Shriners for a bike eval and OMG! Brought tears to my eyes that he can now ride a bike. All of it thanks to her work and recommendations! Her nurse, Walter, is also an awesome human being that was there for us when we needed him.

My son has been going to Kristen Carroll for 17 years. She has preformed numerous surgeries on him, some of them major.. life changing surgeries. Dr. Carroll is more than a Doctor. From the moment you meet her she makes you feel like you've known each other for years. She is very caring and has always made my son feel at ease. She treats each patient like they are one of her own family members. She never makes you feel rushed or nervous to ask questions. She takes all the time you need to answer each and every one of our questions in a way we can understand them. Not in "doctor's" language ;) We are so incredibly grateful for her and everything she has done for our son. I have been recommending her to everyone I know since the day we walked into her clinic. I wish I could rate higher than 5 stars!

We have a 10 year old child with a rare progressive neurological disease that affects multiple systems of his body. As a result, he sees multiple specialists (rheumatology, neurosurgery, neurology, ophthalmalogy, cardiology, nephrology...etc.). We have seen specialists at Seattle Children's, CHOP, Primary Children's, Shriners, and Greenville and while we are fortunate to have seen many knowledgeable and compassionate doctors, no one is quite like Dr. Carroll. She is one of the most genuinely caring doctors we have ever seen. She communicates with and checks on patients even in her off hours. She makes kids--and their families--feel like they're old friends. Establishing that kind of comfort is so beneficial when you are entrusting this person to do major surgery on you/your kid! But most importantly, she gave our kid the ability to walk again--an ability he had lost over the past year due to his disease. She is simply the best.

My son has been to five children’s hospitals in three states and had numerous doctors in his 15 years of life. I am not exaggerating when I say Dr. Carroll is the single greatest doctor we have ever met. I am so grateful for all of her kindness, compassion, intelligence, and experience. They way she genuinely loves her patients is a beautiful gift from God. I have seen tears in her eyes when she watched my son was in agony. My son would say she is one of his most favorite and most influential people his life. Every child that child that goes to her is suffering in someway, and she somehow helps compensate for their suffering with that she has to offer. She is an amazing doctor and an amazing person. I am 100% confident in her skills and professional ability as well. Words cannot express what an exceptional gift she is to our family.

Doctor Carroll is amazing! I can't recommend her highly enough. She helped my daughter through years of multiple surgeries, and the results have been miraculous. She did amazing work and also created a wonderful relationship with my daughter and our family. You could see with each visit that she truly cared.

Dr Carroll is a gem !! Confident, friendly, soooo good with children, and heart of gold — which is the icing on the cake! She has a sharp mind and skilled hands. She saw x-rays of my daughter’s feet, and immediately came up with a surgical plan to help correct. It was unexpected and a miracle. My daughter has surgery a couple months later, and the results are miraculous. If there was a way to attach the before/after photos of x-rays, I would.

Dr. Carroll has the best bed side manner. After her treating my daughter for a year, we are left feeling unbelievably thankful for her. She didn’t stop until she found the exact cause of my daughters pain, and she made us feel like she wasn’t going to quit until my daughter was back to living a full life, doing all of the things she wanted to do. Dr. Carroll was able to help me understand my daughters depression, and truly cared about everything my daughter had been through before she got to her. Every staff member that stepped in my daughters room knew her history and made a point to relate to her, they did an exceptional job of making my daughter feel comfortable, supported, and loved. Dr. Carroll is the reason my daughter gets to chase her dreams pain free, and I will forever be thankful to her for that. In the 3 years following my daughters physical trauma Dr. Carroll and her staff were the best we have had, they truly cared to “hear” my daughter and heal her.

Dr. Carroll is the epitome of an exceptionally compassionate person! She has a deep love for each of her patients and their families. It is shown through her bedside manner and helping families like us navigate through difficult medical decisions. She has been caring for our daughter for the past 11 years! Her hard work and training has given our daughter a chance to have a pain free life. We will forever be grateful that our paths crossed and she is our daughters physician!

She is the most amazing doctor in the whole world. My son has gone to her since he was 4 1/5 and he is 22 years old now. 10+ surgeries later for Legg Perthes Disease. I wouldn’t trust my child with any other doctor but Dr. Carroll. She cares about your child likes it’s her own. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for what she did for my son. You need to go see her at Shriners Childrens Hospital. She is so kind and you will love her. She is accepting new patients. I wouldn’t trust anyone else. Love her??

Dr. Carroll has been caring for my son for 6 years. She has helped us sort through all the stress and unease. She has presented us with amazing options for him and always laid out the pros and cons of each choice so we could make an educated decision. She has an amazing bedside manner and has made my son feel happy and safe in her care. She is on top of the latest and greatest research and truly loves our boy. And we love her!
