Excellent is a difficult word to unpack.
But with Dr. Thomas and P.A. Raquel Noonan....no unpacking needed, just use excellent. The team repaired my left shoulder three weeks ago, but first I need to tell you she the team did my right shoulder two plus years ago. I was 70 then but very active, surfing, masters swimming, biking and don't forget fly fishing. The right shoulder, a result of a slippery slope fall was traumatic and the repair extensive. But one year later I was able to show Dr. Thomas and Raquel a video of me swimming 50 yards of butterfly with my right shoulder doing all the work needed to clear and catch the water each stroke. My left shoulder, it has only been three weeks but by paying attention to the team's pre/post directions, which includes a wonderfully concise youtube recording by Dr, Thomas that takes one completely through the whole process, I have had no need for any pain relief beyond over-the-counter sense surgery day and I will be more than ready for physical therapy in a few weeks.

If you need shoulder surgery, Dr. Kristen Thomas should be your surgeon! She completed a fellowship in shoulder/elbow, so is an EXPERT! She ONLY does shoulder and elbow surgery, so is very experienced. Dr. Thomas is phenomenally caring and compassionate. I always felt well taken care of when I saw her. My shoulder surgery results are outstanding. She listened to me, provided lots of good information, and individualized her care to meet my unique circumstances. I have a lot of trust in her expertise.

dr acts with aloof attitude and manner. i waited 30 mins for appt when i began leaving her office, when she suddenly finally made her entrance. a few days after my consultation i realized i was unclear on a point we had breifly discussed. so i called and asked that she kindly give me a call back. i was told that she has no time for patient call backs and that i would need to set up another appt to have my one question answered. goodbye.

ZERO STARS. Dr. Thomas is awful. After a 30min wait she burst into the room with someone in training saying "can she stay since she's already here" w/o really asking me. No smile, she didn't really acknowledge me. She proceeded to bark questions at me and begin an exam before I could even tell her that I have medical PTSD/fear of all things medical. I had to stop the exam and inform her, even though IT WAS IN MY INTAKE FORMS, and ask that she slow down and talk in a normal volume. She looked dumbfounded. She said nothing and proceeded in a slightly softer tone, but still did not acknowledge that I WAS EVEN THERE. I told her I was leaving and that I didn't like her. She said nothing. She's a typical doctor-type who doesn't care about her patients.
