Doctor & sons name is Angelo, Sent by the angels
Both my boys were born at Los Robles. we have NEVER received poor care. only the best, by the best. Volunteers (candy stripers) ; admitting, billing, nurses, doctor Dr. Santangelo, support staff, e.g. radiology, anesthesia, etc are TOP NOTCH. wouldnt go anywhere else. they gave care to my 12 y.o fixed him up , post surgery care. made it happen. i am grateful to the entire staff. Dr. Santangelo, You made your moves and provided my son the care he needed. there were many doctors, we are grateful it was YOU.'Some day, and that day may never come, You will call upon me to do a service for you. But until that day, i will consider this surgery a gift ...' (paraphrased to fit this context- The Godfather)THANK YOU DR. SANTANGELO.

Excelent Service
Dr. Santangelo is very professional and I find her to be very thorough with her review of my visits. She explains any and all issues you may have. I have been a patient for several years and highly recommend her services.

Don't waste your time with this doctor or practice
I honestly do not know how anyone could give Dr. Santangelo a positive review when her office staff is so incomprehensibly incompetent. As far as a urologist goes she is as good as many, but you have to deal with her staff and that in and of itself should send you elsewhere. They are not truthful, they are too often dismissive and they cancel appointments (or say they canceled your appointment when you arrive for it). You will have no record of hearing from them and there you are standing at the desk being told to reschedule. It not only has happened to my family twice, we sat there and witnessed it happened to another a patient as well at one point. People make mistakes, but more than once is inexcusable and with a dose of dry dismissive attitude to chase it down. Look elsewhere for a doctor who considers their patients' time as valuable as theirs. This office thinks saying they are sorry covers the time off work, the expense of travel, the time you invest as the patient and the stres

Needed to see a urologist asap. Having too many UTI’S. Could not believe how far they were booking out. Had not seen Dr. Santangelo for a year as had no need. Told scheduler my concern and it didn’t help. Finally got in to another urologist and found out I had a tumor in my bladder. He was not a surgeon. He called Dr Santangelo and got me in to see her immediately. She did surgery and biopsy showed bladder cancer. She gave me recommendations for bladder cancer specialists. She is very short staffed and this does present a problem. I recommend her highly for her skills and her concern. Her medical assistant, Pilar, is also excellent.

I have been to Dr. Santangelo several times and find her an excellent Urologist who listens to my concerns and provides good advice. She is part of a larger practice and wait times can be a bit long, but she more than makes up for that with her hands on approach.

Please read in its entirety. The front office staff and Cindy the office manager are money hungry, lack ethical values and professionalism. I called to schedule an appointment to see Dr. Santangelo and they told me that I had to pay $100 in advance because I had missed and rescheduled appointments dating back to 2014. Since we travel back and forth between CA and Reno, and being that Dr. Santagelo is an excellent doctor, we decided to take a 7 1/2 hour drive so I could have my yearly check up, and agreed to pay $100.00 in advance with the agreement that it would be reimbursed to me as long as I showed up to my appointment. I arrived late and they told me that Dr Santagelo has an emergency and could not see me. They refused to refund the $100 because I was late.

Lack of professionalism – Apr 30, 2021
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Santangelo?
Sent in all my results requested for my first visit-dr didn’t have them to go over at my appointment, and had staff call me to schedule an ultrasound even though I had sent copies of one recently done with those files, let them know and resent files, they had me do another urine test & I happened to have a UTI, so they gave me antibiotics and said to follow up in 6 weeks... I said still need answers for pain not related, and they scheduled me for 3 weeks out, 3 hrs before appointment they call to reschedule again for week later, when I asked what the dr was going to go over, they said “an ultrasound,” but when I asked, they STILL didn’t even have it in my file. I would have went again to see her w/o her having any results except for an unrelated UTI. Almost 3 months of back and forth, for pain I’ve had a year now, with no new information. Staff tried to set an appointment for 2 days earlier but let me know I could find another Dr If I didn’t feel it was a good fit. Will do.

I have had a kidney stone as well as raised PSA levels. Dr. Santangelo is vey knowledgeable, patient and professional. Furthermore, she has gone the extra mile and contacted me after hours to ensure I was ok, and up to speed on next steps for treatments. One of the best doctors I have been fortunate to be in connection with.

Every time I go to her (annually) she has grossly overbooked. I heard 1 other person check-in for my exact time slot and 2 others checked in for times after me while I was still waiting. I’ve waited 30-45 minutes each time. She is great when I actually see her, but there’s definitely a feeling that the patient’s time is not as important as the physicians. I thought it might be a coincidence at first, but it’s an issue every time. I will be finding a new physician for the future.

Dr. Santangelo is very kind and inspires confidence. She explains treatment options clearly and answers questions honestly and directly. She always remembers me and makes me feel comfortable discussing my health. I was a little hesitant about going to a female urologist, but I am very glad to have found Dr. Santangelo.

Dr. Santangelo is courteous, professional and provides excellent care. Most important to me, is that she will take the time to explain in detail procedures, her recommended care and causes of medical problems. She also remembers her patients and their past, even if it has been a year between appointments. She has helped me to overcome a couple issues to improve my day to day life.
