Dr. Kristine Hess, MD

I came to see Dr. Hess about a large mole on my thigh. I wore a loose dress that would allow her to see it easily. After examining it, she told me to stand up, got behind me and flipped my dress up, almost over my head. The assistant in the room said, "ohh!", and looked very shocked, as did I. Dr. Hess did not ask to lift my dress, or even tell me she was doing to. Just flipped it up, exposing my nakedness. Second was a problem with my lips....they had been feeling sticky, or tacky. I could not get it to go away with lip balm, or washing them. When I told her that, she laughed in a deprecating way and asked, "do you always wash your lips??" I said, no, of course not, but I was trying to get the sticky feeling to go away. She made me feel like an idiot, but had no recommendations for me. (As a side-note...I did some research online and discovered a fungal infection on the lips can make them feel that way. Antifungal cream took care of it). I will never come to Dr. Hess again

I received the poorest professional treatment given to me by anyone. Dr. Hess was rude, confrontational and demeaning. She did contact me about an hour after I left her office to apologize for her behavior. I did appreciate the apology but the damage had already been done. I will NOT recommend her has a dermatologist.

Dr. Hess is very thorough and communicates what she is doing during treatments. I feel she has my best health as her primary goal. I had experiences with 3 other dermatologists and did not feel this way. When people ask me where to seek care for skin issues I refer them to her office.
