Dr. Kristoffer West, MD

I was paralyzed from the waist down after Dr. West implanted the Boston Scientific back stimulator. Zero help from Dr. West. He made promises to help with impatient rehab and has delivered zero. This back stimulator and physician are very dangerous. I’ve had surgery after surgery. My life is a nightmare with fighting infections, wounds and limited mobility. This is the rest of my life. DO NOT use this doctor or get the implant. Don’t risk it!

I had a Boston scientific implanted in my back. The wound was never closed completely and an infection resulted. Removed the devise without making sure the infection was taken care of. Incision opened with pus running out. Had to be hospitalized and intravenous antibiotics have to been administered for the next 6 weeks at home.

Failed surgery procedure! Don't believe his explanation of why it failed!

Fabulous outcome. 100% recovery. Be prepared with questions to ask him since he is a bit quiet.

I have been to many orthopedic/spinal specialists. Dr West is one of the best. His spinal injections left me without pain for the first time in five years.

Abrupt, terse, does not explain thoroughly

I was told for years my back issues could not be fixed. After contracting sepsis that settled in my lower spine, an already troublesome problem became untenable. Dr. West is kind, listens, thorough, and an extremely skilled surgeon. Dr. West is not quick to recommend surgery. It is only after other options are explored. However, once he does, goes through that option. His skill is nothing short of amazing. I am currently 12 weeks out from surgery and 95% pain free, This includes pain that I have been dealing with for 20+ years. I have a life back that I did not dare believe was possible. Dr. West's Nurse Practitioners are knowledgeable and available. When I did hit a bump in the road, he did everything possible to ensure it was dealt with. Dr. West's staff are kind and work well together. The office is efficient and friendly. You feel valued as a person here, cared for, and receive highly skilled care.

He is the best because of his experience he did the surgery for my neck immediately. If he had not i would have been paralyzed.

Dr. Kristoffer West I came to Dr. West as a disabled veteran looking for pain relief from my bilateral sciatica. This means that BOTH sides of my back nerves where crippling me. I have had 2 previous surgery by military Neurosurgeon’s with very little progress. Dr. West put new discs and fusion screws in my vertebral column and I had relieve the very same day after the surgery. I am 2 weeks post surgery and l feel 80% better and looking forward to a life that l can enjoy. Dr. West and NP. Rob are very caring, compassionate, Methodical and form a great Surgical team. He is very thorough, knowledgeable in his field and an excellent surgeon. Staff is very courteous and very helpful in the entire process of my surgery,

Dr. West was helpful, kind and extremely thorough. He answered all of my questions and was able to assist me in moving forward with proper care. His staff was also fantastic! I would recommend him over and over. If you need any kind of back surgery and live in this area, he's definitely the guy to go to.

Dr. West did a spinal fusion on four levels. After the surgery I experienced severe hip pain in both hips. He gave me two steroid shots. (Later I learned that could compromise bone healing.) Within 7 months I started experiencing back pain again. All eight screws in the fusion had backed out. The spinal fusion FAILED. I went to another specialist and had to have the same surgery repeated. Don't go to him and risk what happened to me and three other patients!!

He was an excellent doctor. He performed an L4-L5 fusion on my back in 2018. He was courteous and thoughtful with a good bedside manner. My back issue wasn't as complicated as most, but I was in a tremendous amount of pain which is totally gone now. I would and have highly recommended him to others.

I am 67 years old and have experienced chronic back pain dating back years. When I saw Dr. West he correctly diagnosed the condition (this was verified by a second opinion) and recommended surgery. From my perspective the care I received was handled flawlessly from the diagnosis to hospital stay to the home health care provided after surgery. His staff has always been friendly, courteous and prompt. I am now pain free, that is the best part.

I believe part of my back surgery performed by Dr. West corrected one problem but exacerbated others.

Dr. West did solve the problem. I would not recommend his office if you have Tricare insurance as there is a problem between his office staff and Tricare. I have EOB showing Tricare has paid the claims but the remit to address is wrong and payments have been returned to Tricare. Tricare needs his office to call them and correct the problem and I cannot get them to call.

I ended up with more lower back pain after my micro discectomy. Also pain and burning in my legs and feet.
