Dr. Kunal Shah, MD

I am a retired Army Helicopter Pilot that was in near perfect health at age 60 when I retired. I am now nearly 74 and have mild/moderate COPD. I had a few episodes over the winter that made me think that I might have an underlying heart condition (lots of family history) and was in danger of having a serious "silent" heart attack. I was referred to Dr. Shah by my family doctor. Obviously, I was feeling stressed. I took a lot of data to my first appointment with Dr. Shah. He took his time and analyzed all of it. He asked good questions, gave me an EKG and listened intently to my heart and lungs. He calmed me down by telling me that I shouldn't assume the worst until we had done some testing. He did not immediately jump to the conclusion that we needed to do any "invasive" procedures. He ordered a complete cardiac CT scan and ultrasound (both with the IV fluid injections for good contrast). The results came back and we reviewed them together.
