Excellent Doctor
My husband was referred for heart valve and bypass surgery at Delray Medical Center just before Thanksgiving. Initially we were referred to another surgeon, but then, my brother in law who is a physician in Tampa, FL, found about about Dr. Katariya and asked us to go see him. This was such a blessing!Dr. Katariya is a thorough professional and took the time to explain the surgery in detail and answered all our questions patiently. The surgery was 3 days later and my husband had his aortic valve replaced, and a quadruple bypass. I couldn't believe that he was walking the next morning. Dr. Katariya saw him each day and made us feel very comfortable. The staff in the ICU and on the regular unit was fantastic and after 6 days my husband was discharged back home. It has now been a little over a month and he is back to regular activity and has gone back to work full time.Thank you, Dr. Katariya, for your expertise, your patience and your kindness. We are so blessed to have met you!

Very excellent doctor
My mother from Ukraine had trans catheter valve for mitral leakage from previous mitral valve replacement many years ago in Russia with big tear and dissection of left atrium. She was in heart failure and with swollen belly and very swollen feet. Also had hole in heart from catheter. Also could not walk even to bathroom for shortness of breath. Dr. Katariya did big surgery to put new mitral valve, fix hole in heart, fix dissection and repair tricuspid valve one month ago. Now my mother, her legs back to normal, she able to walk in the yard and do gardening and eating normal food and smiling everyday. We all so thankful for Dr. Katariya save her life. We pray for all blessings to him and his family and his wonderful team of doctors and nurses at Tucson medical center.

My husband was brought in to Tucson Medical Center clinically "dead". He was revived in the emergency room and the cardiologist said that his heart was working only 10% with all 3 major arteries blocked more than 90% and the major aortic valve narrowed down to the level of a pencil tip. Dr. Katariya explained the high risk of the surgery to change out his aortic valve and do a quadruple bypass at the same time. My family and I felt very comfortable and calm with his professional demeanor and his soothing presence. God powered his hands that day and my husband came home 9 days later. This was 3 months ago and today we celebrated our daughter's wedding. All this would not have happened without Dr. Kush (Katariya), as everyone at TMC calls him. The entire experience was surreal, but we all thank God for bringing him to Tucson and for being able to take the sliver of a chance to bring my husband back to me. I thank Dr. Katariya and his entire team at TMC and Pima Heart for saving his life.

Dr. Katariya and his team took care of my husband who had to have a second valve surgery after his first valve replacement went bad. He underwent 2 valve replacements and 4 bypasses, all at the same time. He is doing so well only 3 weeks after his surgery, it is unbelievable. Thank you Dr. Katariya and your team for all your sincere and hard work. We are eternally grateful.

Dr. Katariya operated on me for replacement of a heart valve, repair of another valve and a quadruple bypass, 4 months ago at Tucson Medical Ctr. I truly believe I have been given a new lease on life. Dr. Kush (as they call him) has been a Godsend. I could not be where I am today without his skill, patience and his compassionate care. Dr. Kush took the time to explain everything to me and my family and has been there for all of us through this trying time. God Bless Dr. Kush.

Dr. Katariya recently performed a complex operation replacing my aortic valve and the beginning portion of my aorta coming out of the heart which had a large aneurysm. I was very happy with the care he and his team provided at Tucson Medical Center. Dr. Katariya has a wonderful bed side manner and is very compassionate and attentive. I followed up with him a week after surgery and have now fully recovered. I recommend him highly. God bless him and and his wonderful team of caregivers.

Dr. Katariya met me at Tucson Medical Center after a major heart attack. I had literally died and had CPR and brought back to life. I found out that I had major heart artery blockages and one valve was blocked. Dr. Katariya seemed very kind, concerned, confident and took his time to explain the need for surgery to me and my family. He answered all our questions. His care was truly amazing. He saved my life. I am now back to living, swimming and loving my new found life. Thank you Dr. Kush!

Dr. Katariya did my open heart surgery in Tucson 2 weeks ago. I was in the hospital for 4 days after my operation. I am very happy with my experience with him and his staff at Tucson Medical Center. They were all very professional and courteous. My family liked him very much also because he woudl take the time to speak with them everyday. I would recommend him to anyone who has to go through heart surgery.

Dr. Katariya did surgery on my heart last month. He replaced my aortic valve and removed aneurysma from my aorta and did two bypass all in one operation. I am so grateful to God for his skills and his compassion. He spent a lot of time with me before the surgery explaining the reasons for the surgery and then after the surgery in the hospital and then I met him at his office again. The staff at the hospital and his office were very caring and helpful. God bless them all.

Arriving in his his office for a 10:00 am appointment I was informed he had to move the appointment to 2:15 pm. I returned to his office only to wait until 3:15 for a 10 minute appointment. at which time I learned nothing. He advised I need to have tests that would demonstrate my heart was suitable for surgery. I had a viability test over the next 2 days, but received no results. A week later my call was returned by his assistant telling me I am not a surgical canidate, no explanation offered.
