Thank you for a good start!!
We saw Dr. Immken back in 2006 after my son with Down syndrome was born. She said he was a beautiful boy with mild DS facies. We got the karyotype and moved on with our lives. We tried the Down syndrome Clinic, but didn't continue it because we had therapies in house with ECI in our county. He was off to school at age 3, well mannered and then we noticed signs of Autism. He is dual dx since age 8. It took a long while to get it confirmed because some doctors don't acknowledge a dual dx. It was evident. My son is 18 now and doing well with his deafblindness. All is well with him medically, and he's a grown up needing a karyotype for Social Security disability. Make sure you keep all your files!! They will ask for everything from every doctor when you apply. Thank you, Dr. Immken, for giving it to us straight and letting us follow our son's lead. He's smart and has a high emotional intelligence. We knew it from the beginning!!! It's just hard to see through it all early on.

I booked an appointment for my daughter who is in dire need of help. The "Dr." couldn't find a way to fit her in for six months. SIX MONTHS?!? I thought this to be absurd, but I booked the appointment anyway. Five months later, I get a call from a heartless admin saying they need to reschedule. FOR THREE MONTHS LATER!!! Absolutely unacceptable! For many, this is a life/death situation and this Dr. doesn't seem to care one bit about the welfare of her patients, or apparently, anybody. DON'T WASTE

We met with a genetic counselor in Dr Immken's office in Sept 2016, after waiting 3 months for an appt. The visit was a useless review of the genetic report we already read. She promised to ask the lab to authorize further testing. FIVE MONTHS LATER, the office has never contacted us, despite repeated attempts from us and our neurologist. This week they finally reached out and offered us their first appt... six more months from now. That appt is another consult, not needed testing. The. Worst.
