Dr. Lalania Schexnayder, MD

After waiting over 2 months to see her, she tells me that she does not treat patients with dysautonomia. She referred me to a cardiologist in Texas. She denied Long Covid as a valid diagnosis that would cause dysautonomia. Not friendly, too busy, and not sympathetic. I went home and googled the physician that she referred me to. in Texas. He was a neurologist just like her, not a cardiologist. I do thank her for acknowledging that she could not adequately treat my daughter. I believe her! I wish it would not have taken as long to find out what a disappointment she was! Waste of valuable time for a child.

This was possibly one of the worst doctor visits I’ve ever experienced. She was way more focused on typing notes on the laptop than having a conversation with my daisy and I about possible causes of her headaches. She suggested a few different drugs and seemed taken back by my asking about possible side effects. We left with her suggestion that my daughter eat breakfast every day.. which I agree with! And fill the prescription if we want and come see her again in a couple of months. Both my daughter and myself agreed we will never see this doctor again. No warmth.. no beside manner.. left feeling like we were just another billable hour.

She is very knowledgeable and takes time with her patients!

In my 27 years as a practicing registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, I have come across some outstanding physicians with excellent qualifications and wonderful bedside manners, who are adored by their patients and patient families. Dr. Schexnayder is all that and so much more!!!! She is patient, warm and addresses all my questions and concerns and I just know that my son could not be in better hands! I feel truly blessed to have this exceptional physician care for my son. Do I recommend Dr. Schexnayder? Dr. Schexnayder has earned my highest recommendations over many, many years! She is exceptional in her field. She is warm and caring and makes sure everything is explained very well. I recommend her without hesitation. She is a true credit to her profession and an amazing asset for Baton Rouge Clinic!

Let my 18 year old son attend his appointment on his own for the first time. He has been a patient of Dr. Schexnayder for 11 years. He arrived 10 minutes early for his 3:30pm appointment. They didn't call him back until 4:15pm. He then sat in the examination room for 1 hour without any explanation as to the delay. When she finally showed up, he complained about his wait. Her response was that there were more important patients than him. After he was done, she suggested he find a new DR!!!

My son has been seeing Dr Schexnayder for close to 11 years. I trust her implicitely. She speaks in a manner in which we understand and my son feels comfortable around her.
