Excellent heart surgeon
Dr Landvader performed quadruple bypass surgery on me in 1999 at Wake Medical Center. I feel fortunate and blessed to have received care from this most talented and skilled heart surgeon. I have had no other heart issues for 25 years.

Dr. Landvater replaced my aorta valve and ascending aorta a few years ago to deal with a bad valve and an aneurysm. He did an amazing job and I am doing well today. He and his staff at Rex were always great. His residents in training were always great as well. I highly recommend him and Rex Cardiology.

My father had a quadruple bypass by Dr. Landvater 25-years ago, and my father is still with us today. I often think about how grateful I am for Dr. Landvater for helping to give my family so many more years together. I was eight at the time, and since then have been blessed to have my father at my high school and college graduations, my wedding, and countless birthdays and holidays. Thank you Dr. Landvater

I am writing this review in regards to the excellent care my Dad received from Dr. Landvater. It's been 4 years since his emergency heart surgery. He respected my Dads personal decision that this invasive surgery be done WITHOUT any blood transfusions. Dr. Landvaters experience, skill, and steady hands yielded amazing results- our Dad was out of the hospital in 3 days! He is still doing great!

First rate physician. I initially brought concerns I had regarding specific potentially complicating issues with my upcoming open heart surgery. Dr. Landvater addressed my concerns directly in his treatment plan which made my surgery much less feared. REX/UNC CardioVascular Hospital is state-of-art and patient friendly. I was amazed that his team and the extended hospital staff were great. I felt like my treatment mattered and I was not just a number. Great facility

Dr L Landvater is quite an exceptional Doctor. He listens to you and hears you. My visit to him was to determine whether I would have open heart surgery which my Cardiologist felt I was a good candidate for. He took the time to understand my priorities, also ran some additiional tests. We had three visits before his final recommendations. I felt very comfortable with him as my Doctor. I did decline the surgery, but if I should decide later to have it, he would be my choice as my heart surgeon.

I had my aortic valve replaced. Dr. Landvater went above and beyond to answer all my questions and address all my concerns. His confidence [without arrogance] was what really cinched it for me. Let's face it, you're putting your life in someone else's hands. You have to be comfortable. He doesn't disappear after the surgery either. He's truly in it for the patient, and I literally owe my life to his skilled hands!
