Arrogant, dismissive
Dr Nutting was very rude and dismissive to me and to my child when we came in with concerns about frequent swollen tonsils. He kept asking if my child ate her hair (um no). He reluctantly gave us a referral to an ENT doctor and I don’t know what he said in the referral, but the ENT doctor was rude too. (I’ve been seen at that same ENT practice and had good experiences.)Pediatric Medical Associates on Howe used to have good doctors but our last two visits were really disappointing. We followed our old doctor to the Folsom office. Worth the drive to not be talked to like we’re nothing.

Amazing experience
My son came in today for his 2 month checkup… I was honestly nervous at first given all these reviews about Dr Nutting but that was easily over thrown by his treatment with our son. He took time to talk with us, explain things, asked us questions, feedback & and gave us encouragement. We left feeling grateful for our experience and hope more people come forward about how kind he actually is.

Very kind and professional
We are first-time parents and just took our daughter to see Dr. Nutting for her two month check up. Dr. Nutting was very gentle and thorough when he examined our daughter. We had a long list of questions and he took his time to answer them all. He was very patient and informative. We left feeling reassured and felt very well cared for.

Unprofessional and maybe actually losing his mind?
DR. NUTTING IS AWFUL!! We’ve had PMA patients for 18+ years (2 have aged out of peds) and the staff has been fantastic- but Nutting has truly lost. his. mind. There was a pinkeye outbreak at my kids school and sure enough at 6pm she popped up with a leaking, red, itchy eye complete with green discharge. This was only my second interaction with this deplorable human and he kept right on brand. First he identified himself and stopped talking. I had no idea if he knew who he was calling or why. I launched into what was happening and he said 'it itches? It sounds like there's something in it. Pinkeye doesn't usually itch'. When I explained I've had pinkeye know it itches, he said I could bring her in tomorrow. When I finally got a chance to say that there was an outbreak in 2 classes at school he SCREAMED over me that he wasn't going to call in an antibiotic. Before he could verbally assault me further I hung up, now we're at urgent care. My husband heard everything bc of his screaming

How is this man a pediatrician?!
Every single time we have interacted with Dr. Nutting we leave feeling like it was the worst, most dismissive & agitated interaction, and honestly we scratch our heads about how he could be a doctor that works with children/families. He is SO RUDE. He has ZERO bedside manner and takes no time to make you feel comfortable, heard or like he could care less. He talks to you like he’s annoyed & inconvenienced by you being there. And like he is put out at your questions or stupidity. It’s baffling and frustrating and when we have a sick child I have actually opted to go to urgent care over going into our primary doctors office if it means seeing him. We love Dr. Lloren and the entire Folsom office, and Dr. Nutting is the only exception. Something needs to be done because it’s bad for business and sad that we can’t go to our drs. office and feel cared about. Not sure what his problem is but he’s a real jerk that takes it out on his patients and it’s a well known issue many people talk about.

Love this doctor!
Dr. Nutting has been my son's pediatrician since the day he was born. He has been extremely helpful with all of our concerns and questions. He always takes the time to talk to us about how things are going including breastfeeding, sleep schedule, diaper rash, etc. He makes a point to check in with us (mom and dad) to make sure we are okay too as first time parents. I feel like the only reason people have given him bad reviews on here is because he's not just going to tell you what you want to hear. He's going to give you solid sound medical advice because he's a doctor and that's what he went to school for. I highly recommend Dr. Nutting.

Cold, easily agitated and doesn’t listen
I have had multiple interactions with this doctor and not a single good one. He doesn’t listen to my thoughts/concerns and immediately interjects with his opinion without taking the time to understand. He actually yelled at me over the phone when he failed to understand that I was asking a clarifying question and not arguing with his immediate opinion. At best he is very distant and cold- I don’t understand why he went into pediatrics if he can’t even bother to smile at a child, let alone make a little friendly conversation to put them at ease. I generally get along well with doctors and NPs and the rest of the employees at Pediatric Medical Associates have all been lovely, but this guy’s bedside manner has no place in pediatrics. I will not see him again.

Very cold
Son had a arm injury on a Friday, possible broken bone. Dr. Nutting maybe said about 10 words walked out room, my son and I looked at eachother, had no clue what was going on. Dr. Nutting came back in put brace on my son's arm, gave a paper and said you can go take x-rays one of these places. So I started asking questions, he said I'll give you a call with results. I called Monday because we hadn't heard anything, office stated results are not in, called imaging and they stated Dr Nutting had results Friday and will send it again.

Dr. Nutting is very knowledgeable and decisive. I always leave the office feeling satisfied about the treatment of my infant son. Each bit of advice has been helpful and the correct path to go. Dr. Nutting takes the time to answer all of my questions. Some people mentioned poor bedside manner, but I have yet to see that. Dr. Nutting is both kind and respectful to my son and I. My family feels very lucky to found Dr. Nutting as our pediatrician.

Although, I have never been to this specific office in Sacramento, I was Dr. Nutting’s patient as a child at a pediatric clinic in a different city. He was wonderful, kind, observant, and helpful. My dad passed away when I was 5, and he made sure I was doing okay which was super important and meaningful to me as adults tend to get most of the check-ins when a loved one passes. He didn’t neglect the way I felt about the situation and always made me feel welcome and comfortable. The tong stickers were a plus too! Unfortunately, I had to settle with a different pediatrician when he left, but the 14 years under his care were impactful.

I have yet to have a good experience with Dr. Nutting. He is arrogant and pompous and very belittling. He was not the least bit friendly or helpful the two times I spoke with him on the phone for after hours, on-call situations. I grew up going to this practice and my mom even worked in the office when I was very young. The other doctors know me well and have been absolutely wonderful to my son, as well as the nursing and front office staff. PMA has been great and I would recommend any other doctor in this practice (the NP, Helene, is our all time favorite). Dr. Nutting, unfortunately, doesn’t meet the mold or the standards of the other physicians.

We really like Dr. Nutting. He's patient and kind. Never had a bad experience with him. The staff is kind of rude, which is a shame because both him and Dr. Lloren have been great with my 2 kids. Thorough and nice.

Rude and arrogant. I like the practice overall but will not go back to Dr. Nutting. He was belittling and ran out of the exam room as quick as he could. A disgrace to the practice.

We've been taking our kids to Dr. Nutting for 4 years since we first moved to Folsom and we are VERY happy. Our children are all under 5 and he is calm and patient with them. Dr. Nutting is very easy to talk to and listens more than he talks. He doesn't seem to overreact to symptoms which we appreciate. I LOVE the way he observes our children in the exam room, monitoring their motor skills and social behavior at each check-up. Staff is friendly too.

We had just moved and after researching doctors in our area I thought he would be the best choice for my 3 boys. Wow was I wrong! He is very belittling and rude. Just the way he he looks and speaks to me makes me uncomfortable. My 11 year old was also very uncomfortable and does not want to go back. His office staff and nurses are wonderful! We have also seen other doctors in this office that were great but will probably never go back.

Poor interpersonal skills and bedside manner. Arrogant demeanor. I have been with this medical group for 14 years (and I am loyal to it because of only positive experiences in the past--prior to today. The rest of the practitioners and support staff have always treated us very well and courteously!), but this was my first encounter with this practitioner. He is definitely in the wrong branch of medicine (i.e. Any branch that interacts with people)!
