Dr. Laura Phieffer, MD

If you want to be respected and don't want to completely waste your time, go somewhere else. I scheduled a new patient annual appt, explaining I needed to get back to annual checks as skin cancer runs in the family and with COVID I hadn’t been seen in 2 years. On the initial call when the appt was scheduled the girl asked if I had any specific concerns and I said yes, I had a spot on my foot that I should get looked at. Four months later it’s appt day. I show up, get called back & the nurse proceeds to start asking about my foot. Soon it became very uncomfortable for us both as it was clear that whoever scheduled the appt scheduled me for a spot check only. She wasn’t offering to fix their mistake, so I asked if I was going to have to wait another 4 months for my annual, and stated I’d rather wait for the full scan vs. being charged twice. Speaking with the office manager on the way out he was so unprofessional, never offering a sincere apology. He was the "Sorry BUT" guy. Multiple times it was "sorry, but people try to come in and add-on services all the time," which I believe, however I pointed out that it would not make sense for me to just schedule an appointment for my foot as if I was so concerned about that I wouldn't have waited four months in the first place. In addition to never offering an apology, he never offered any solutions. If he truly couldn't remedy the situation that day, the least he could have done was offer to put me on a wait list for cancellations to try to get me back sooner since they messed up. The worst experience I have ever had with a "manager".

I have been to a couple doctors before Dr Phieffer and have been dealing with my skin problem for a year with no answers. Dr Phieffer really cares and is trying to do all she can to help me. We are making progress and I am so thankful she was recommended to me. She spends time with you and is very thorough and caring. Highly recommend her !!

Wonderful office from beginning to end.

Such an amazing practice!

I went to two other dermatology practices and was trying to resolve a rash for nearly five months. I saw Dr. Phieffer one time and started getting better within a week. Had a second appointment one month out and was completely better. I can't say enough good things about this office. I could get an appointment within the same week and every staff member I spoke with there was friendly and upbeat. Great office!

Dr. Phieffer was very knowledgeable! By far the best I’ve been to, I had a rash that would not go away and I had been to 2 other practices and almost gave up before going to Avenues Dermatology. She made me feel comfortable, asked a lot of questions and provided a clear treatment plan that had my rash cleared up in 2 weeks!!! Thank you!!

One of the most condescending and arrogant doctors that I have ever had. Talked to me like I was a little child to explain a very simple procedure. Left me in a hospital gown for nearly a half hour while she went to look something up. Zero bedside manner as well. Not at all a pleasant exprience and I would not refer any one to her.

Not recommending. Couldn't analyze what type of infection I have and failed to treat the problem better

Dr Phieffer and her staff are awesome! Very friendly and informed. Dr Phieffer definitely cares about her patients. Very Happy with total experience.

Dr. Phieffer not only has a terrific bedside manner, but she clearly knows what she is doing. I guess her 20 years of experience and ivy league education are evident. Bravo to a doctor who clearly loves what she does and cares about her patients' well-being!

Her experience and knowledge are like no other!

The whole visit, from start to finish, was awesome. All the staff is great and very nice. Office itself is beautiful. Anytime and everytime I have had to contact the office, I was treated with respect and care. Dr Phieffer is great. You can tell she really cares about her patients.

She did not spend time to find out what was wrong with me. It appears she just did now want to help me. I have found another doctor who is concerned with my care.

I have had two appointments with Dr. Phieffer so far and have been pleased that I haven't felt my appointments are rushed (as I felt with a few other derms). She was attentive, thorough and gave good feedback to my questions. I'll continue to go to her!
