Dr. Laura Veras Mena, MD

I tried to get an appointment with Dr. Mena in December because of severe allergies and ear infections. I was told time and time again by ENT doctor's that I needed an allergist. Dr. Mena's front deck wouldn't give me an appointment (she was and still is looking for new patients) unless I got a referral from my primary doctor along with my history of allergy problems. I complied immediately but It took the front desk weeks to get back to me and I was told that the doctor wouldn't take me on as a patient because I didn't live in Florida year round. (I sincerely hope this doctor experiences being sick and not being able to get help because she didn't live local year round. The front desk is the worst- I was told by her that I'd been to many allergists and I didn't like them I've only been to one allergist who wasn't helping me which was why I was looking for a new doctor. In any case, I found a doctor who is very caring and has helped me with all my allergies.You won't be helped here

I had a terrible experience at this medical office. I sought out a specialist for my severe allergy and wanted to get an allergy test and the appropriate treatment. However, it's impossible to schedule an appointment with Dr. LAURA I. VERAS MENA, MD here without a referral letter from your primary care doctor, which is a huge hassle and a waste of time for patients. Even if you have health insurance and are willing to pay for the medical consultation, you can't skip this step. It took me a whole week from finding Dr. Laura to requesting the referral letter from my primary care physician, sending the fax, and receiving a negative response. This is definitely not the kind of customer service you would expect. Medical service in the USA is so frustrating. In this office, people don't treat patients like people. When I asked the receptionist what should be included in my referral letter, given my numerous allergies and my simple desire for an allergy test and appropriate treatment, she coldly replied that she wouldn't tell me. It's definitely not worth your time trying to schedule an appointment as a new patient - it's a disappointing, frustrating, and fruitless waste of time. I do not recommend it, FORGET THIS OFFICE!

Everybody in the clinic are friendly and warm especially Jaime, she made me feel really comfortable and goes out of her way to make sure I'm doing good.

Everything was a great experience. Dr Veras was the kindest and sweetest Dr I've meet. She showed her concerns about many things and was very sweet and gentle, but firm in her understanding of trying to make me understand her concerns about certain issues. She is a very good Doctor who I feel very comfortable with. Her staff is above and beyond helpful, and kind. The front desk and her nurse, sweet hearts to say the least.

As always, Dr. Veras was attentive, caring and exceptionally experienced in my care. My Insurance company was not going to pay for one of my prescription, which Dr.Veras felt I needed. She asked her nurse, Angel to try to call insurance for approval. Angel went above and beyond to get my script covered. It took her three days, talking to many different people but she succeeded. Through the whole process she would call me to keep me informed. She told me she became a nurse to help people and she certainly proved how much she cares. In my opinion, I absolutely feel she is outstanding. This is only one instance, she always is caring and shows she is interested in what I say. I hope she is recognized for what she does. Dr. Veras and all of the staff did an excellent job during our visit. Everyone was courteous and kind and all of our concerns were addressed.

Dr. Veras is the most thorough and informative physician I have ever seen!

I am extremely grateful for the care provided me by Dr Veras. Her knowledge base is extensive and she takes considerable time reviewing test results explaining what they indicate as well as what course of treatment she recommends. As a patient, I certainly cannot say enough about her competence, professionalism and patient care.

Dr. Veras listened to things I had to say, tested me, and gave me a treatment plan. She seems very concerned for her patients and tries to help. She spent a good deal of time assessing my problem. Lovely person.

Dr. versa was a pleasure both professionaly and personally. The Lee community needed additional allergist.
