Dr. Laura Vogel Abernathie, MD

I saw Dr. Vogel for a second opinion due to a ruptured hamstring and FAI impingement. Dr. Vogel and Morgan took the time to listen to me and understand the type of activities and lifestyle I enjoy, before providing a treatment plan. She reviewed the results of diagnostic images to me and included me in the decision making process. All of her staff was great, but Michael goes above and beyond to ensure patients have answers to questions and concerns. He is very thorough and made the surgical process and recovery seamless. I wish I would have found Dr. Vogel and her team much sooner (to avoid months of pain, limited mobility and diminished quality of life). I am forever grateful for the care Dr. Vogel and her entire team provided me. I am finally pain free and resuming activities I enjoy!

I had a consultation w/ Dr. Vogel to get a second opinion on my upcoming hip surgeries (with another surgeon). She is absolutely excellent. She explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, took time to go through all of my imaging and answer my questions. I would absolutely recommend her in a heartbeat. She also has 2 fellowships - both in hip preservation and sports medicine - making her a great surgeon for a great mix of patients with different issues. I wish she specialized in what I need to get surgery for - or I'd switch over to her! Thanks Dr. Vogel, I truly appreciate your approach to medicine and patient care.

Thank you so much Dr Vogel and Michael for all your expertise, kindness, caring about your patients, and for always be in there when I have questions and concerns. Dr Vogel would not leave the room until all your questions were answered and you felt comfortable. I was in severe pain every day and she did a hip flexor release and now I can enjoy my life again. She is thorough and my true angel who helped me get pain relief from a previous hip surgery. She took the time to take care of me and make sure my quality of life was back. I highly recommend her to anyone I know. She is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon and all of her 's staff is there for you when you need them. I would go back to her in a heartbeat. Dr. Vogel is a great doctor. The first time I went to see her she listened to me and truly cared. She was very professional and knowledgeable. I felt safe having her as my surgeon. I would recommend her to everyone who needs hip surgery.

She got me in within a week when my normal providers were still 2.5 months out. I may not have all the answers yet but she listened well and explained why an MRI would not help.

Wonderful doctor and a true expert in her field

Sought care for torn labrum with the following results: - poor outcome - poor pain management - denied care due to face masks Details: - Surgery for torn labrum did not produce positive results. Continued pain in hip with development of significant neuropathy in thigh. Did not mitigate post operative pain in any manner resulting in extreme discomfort post op - Refuses to use narcotic pain relief. This seems to be a problem she has prescribing narcotics. She also will not discuss other pain relief. - Her office refused to see me when I told them I rather not wear a face mask. This is post Covid and I have other doctors who do not require them. I tried to talk to her about it through the patient portal, but there has been no response. I am seeking care elsewhere and recommend you do the same. There are better choices than Dr Vogel
