Gall bladder surgery
She was very upfront about the surgery and any and all risks. Very Frank and to the point which I appreciated. Surgery went well and she explained everything to my wife while I was in recovery.

This was the worst experience that I have ever had with a physician. She was very rude. She was uncertain of my diagnosis and did not know what to do to help me. She acted like I was a burden on her time.

Dr. Mcdowell-Jacobs was very condescending and rude. She treated her staff like crap when I was there and when I went for a second opinion she canceled my next Appointment and acted very petty.

Horrible people skills in Mt Vernon – Aug 18, 2018

I took my 85 year old mother to see Dr. McDowell-Jacobs on a referral from her primary provider. My parents and I waited 90 minutes passed our scheduled appointment to see the physician. The office staff was apologetic for the wait and offered us water. Dr. McDowell-Jacobs stormed into the room, did not apologize, and did not introduce herself. In my opinion she was disrespectful to my elderly mother. She was with us less than 10 minutes and no physical exam was done.

So rude. She is abrupt and curt. Does not take the time to explain things. I went in for a cyst on my breast and she never even looked at it. She decided I needed surgery on my esophagus instead. Something called lap Nissan. Had nothing at all to do with why I came in to see her. She was ready to schedule this surgery that day without even giving me an endoscopy or any other pretests. Scary woman.

Dr. McDowell-Jacobs was my surgeon, she was direct and to the point, but was also kind and understanding, she did a great job, i would defintely recommend her. I waited less than 15 minutes to get in for my appts. unless she had emergency surgery, but still got in quicker than expected. Her staff treated me great and were always considerate of my concerns.

Nasty rude woman, thinks her time is more important than anyone else's. Treats people in the community terribly. Looks down on her patients and others. Will NEVER go back. The hospital needs to be aware of how she treats people.

Spent less than 10 minutes with me as a new patient (after a 1 hour and 20 minute wait). Did not give me all the information regarding a procedure she wanted me to do which led to confusion in scheduling. Rude, short, did not listen to any concerns. Threw a small temper tantrum when I said I would like to see another doctor.
